Saw the trail hunter in person at expo west and to be honest I think it looks a lot worse in person (a very bland 2nd gen mixed with 4th gen) they had the new Land Cruiser which to me looked a little better in person

Yeah, the more I look at the pics, the less I like it. I also really dislike the interior, with the Tacoma dashboard design. I think the LC looks much better, the 4Runner is over-styled while the LC is much more clean and simple.

How's that color look in person? A friend of mine is Head over heels over it, personally. It doesn't do much for me, but I think maybe it's one of those colors that will look better in person.

Completely subjective but I don't care for the black plastic cladding around the wheel wells. Reminds me of a Subaru Outback, although I know every manufacturer is doing it now.

This is great, finally some ppl who agree

I don't mind the black plastic flares, in fact the OG Trail editions had them, I actually like them on mine. It's just that everything is a weird shape, and there are so many body lines. It's like they couldn't put the pens down, they had to keep adding stuff.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

I agree. When I first saw the new LC, I thought "Hey, it's the new FJ Cruiser, in 4door trim!" I know it's going to cost a bit more than the 4Runner, but I like it and would buy it.

Can't disagree with the too many body lines sentiment. IMHO, the Land Cruiser (hard for me to think of that as an LC but that's another topic) looks much more clean. I mean, look at the difference in the doors alone...

Both vehicles seem to have terrible interior packaging. The rear leg room seem to be very poor. You can’t even fold down the rear seats flat.

do agree that the LC styling will age much better than the 6g

I know the 5th gen has glove on knobs but the dials in the 6th gen looks like they got bigger.

I think the pic represents the color in real life pretty well, it’s a very “teal” like color while I didn’t hate it I wasn’t a fan of it either but I guess the trend is earth tones nowadays (terra pro color for example)

It helps they have good sized rubber on that LC, and not some 18" rim nonsense.

So that green is more of a teal? I'm somewhat blue-green color blind and it is really hard for me to distinguish between shades along those lines.

That blue/green/teal color combo is straight out of the early 90s. And before that, I think the 50s.

I love the looks of that LC, but I remain unimpressed with the looks of the 6th gen 4R. I hope both of them turn out to be great trucks with the same legendary Toyota reliability we have come to expect. But I hate paying money to be a beta tester so I voted with my wallet and recently bought a 2024 4R. If the LC turns out to be great, I may look into buying one in 3 or 4 years after all the new generation gremlins have been worked out. I may have a front row seat because my daughter-in-law plans on ordering a 2025 model.

I expect the LC to be hard to get for a long time, which means greedy dealers will be marking up the prices. I refuse to pay over MSRP so, hopefully, supply and demand will normalize by year 3, 4 or 5.

I would buy the LC if it were even-stevens, but the cheapest LC is still kind of a lot more expensive than it’s 4runner twin. Possibly without even having the good stuff a higher trim 4runner. (Edit: the LC looks a lot better in that pic due to the tires/wheels…I wonder if it rubs lol).

I’d like to see more pics of the Limited 4runner. The few I’ve seen of it made it seem pretty classy, and less embarrassing for a non-youtuber to own.

In fact, anybody seen pics of an SR5? That might look more down to earth. However, with toyota’s trim pricing structures, SR5s might not include an instrument cluster unless you upgrade to the a premium trail-road package :p

Does the Trail Hunter come with a rock to park on, or do you have to buy that separately?

That LC looks great in that color. What wheels and tires did it have? Was that Toyotas show vehicle or a private owner?
The 4Runner looks way too busy. They tried too hard to make it look edgy and I really don’t like the giant black fender flares.

Well, it's a bargain compared to the V8 Defender, which starts at $108k.

I see a little similarity, in that they're both boxy SUV's. Aside from that, there are plenty of differences. The biggest difference being that the LC looks good and the Bronco looks like shit.

Just wanted to add: I like some aspects of the Bronco. The front bumper is nice. Overall, the body is OK. I just can't stand the headlights and fender flares.
