If you have the factory dash cam, and if your truck beeps 6 times, pauses, beeps 6 times at start up, read on. If not, this will be of no interest.

That series of beeps is the camera telling you there was an "incident" while you were parked. It's supposed to be protecting your truck, i.e., it gets bumped, turns on the camera, records the bad guy, then alerts you that it happened. But, if the sensitivity is set to its max - .01 Gs, closing the door will be an "incident."

You have to connect to the camera via the app. Everything I read said the password is either a bunch of "0"s or "123456789" or the password set by the first owner. Wrong. It's the serial number... or the password set by the owner. The link below is the ONLY one who got it right.

I just connected, found the settings, changed the sensitivity, changed the volume, then looked through the videos. I found the first ever video - the Toyota technician shutting the hood during the PDI. Seriously.

No kidding?? This is awesome information. Truth be told, the day I picked up my '24 the salesman couldn't figure out why the camera was beeping nonstop every time the vehicle was started. We figured out how to mute it temporarily...which worked fine until the next time you started the car. Camera owners manual to the rescue....I inserted the memory card into the camera and voila....no more beeps. And haven't touched the damn thing ever since - lol

I'm going to tear into the owners manual again and see if I can find more info on this app, then see if I can use this to get set it up. Much appreciated Manhattan.....cheers!

    Oooh look, another mod.....

He's a salesman, what'd you expect? Sales people barely know enough to sell you the product they want you to buy. Beyond that, they're morons. I guess I'm a pessimistic person, I'm kind of shocked that the salesman even bothered at all. I assume they'd high hand someone once the deal is inked.
