AC Compressor replacement instructions

Where can I find instructions (videos preferred) on replacing AC compressor in 5th generation 4runner?

I cant find it in factory service manual and neither youtube.

 

Service manuals are online now. TIS still has them.

 

i maybe looking at the wrong place, but i have a downloaded factory service manual for 2010-2017 and i cant find the section that deals with air conditioning compressor replacement.

Does TIS have more service manuals?

 

You need to take it to a shop to have the system evacuated properly before attempting any work on the compressor. Best to just find an independent shop to have them do it if you have any questions in your ability after the system is evacuated properly.

 

appreciated - yes- i am planning to get it evacuated at a shop as per the laws and for the environment.

Regardless, I am still looking for those instructions to replace. I do DIY work regularly, and need those instructions to assess and plan, and maybe do the (post evac) work myself.

 

Its bad for the enviroment? Last time I had an AC guy out. He said my system was overfull and just let it out. I says are you supposed to fo that?

 

Then the next tech had to refill it.lol

 

hello SR5Limited - i understand. tech guys arent always experts or follow the law or they may know where to draw the line - i am no expert to judge them. Regardless of what they do, I do not intend to break any laws and its listed as causing environmental impact, and hence I am going to follow it. I do appreciate your input.

going back to my original question, i would love to find instructions on how to replace the AC compressor.

 

Found the instructions in the service manual PDF. Had to use a different search term.
