Years ago when I was maybe 8-10 years old, my Grandma took a sip of wine and said, this is good wine. I asked my Grandma..."Grandma, what is a good bottle of wine?"...she responded that a good bottle of wine is whatever you think is a good bottle of wine...having been on here and reading comments for some time, I am surprised at all the negative comments given from one 4R lover to the next... You're a sucker, you paid too much....can't believe you bought with KDSS or not KDSS...You bought a Pro, so your idea of off roading is Costco... you bought a SR5 and put Pro wheels and a grill on it so you are a wannabe...you only like the 5th gen because you justify to yourself it is better than the new 6th gen...and so on... personally, I would prefer to celebrate what each owner is happy with and respect their decision. I appreciate everyone giving their opinions when people ask, but unsolicited rude comments just leave me thinking...what makes a good 4Runner? Well, it is whatever you think makes a good 4Runner, and I'm happy for you.

I think it’s just the nature of these types of online forums. I try to look at it this way: take what is useful, discard what is useless and just enjoy the vehicle for what it is.

Unfortunately, there seems to have been a surplus of negativity around here lately. This used to be a very friendly forum.

I hope it's just a phase. There are a lot of new members lately. And, the announcement of the 6th gen has really stirred things up. Still, I think the majority of the people here are friendly and generally helpful.

As @daedalus mentioned, sometimes you just have to scroll past the stuff that doesn't contribute in a positive way.

I know what your saying @Bburn, not all but some of it comes from folks who have migrated here from the other site. Bad habits are hard to break, i came here from the other site and am damn glad to be here, and have called out some of the offenders. Do what you feel you need to do, but try to hang in there for awhile. The majority of members here are good people.

I agree with you 100%. It seems the instant internet gratification affects to many posters, so you gotta have some thick skin to shed the haters. I am on here way to much just looking for something new to learn for the day.

But as the Dude states....Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

This gives me the idea that there needs to be a “Roast Me” thread, but in order to post, you have to send pics of your own vehicle. Also, people you have never met or will meet are going to be on here but at the end of the day, don’t let them live rent free in your head.

It's the nature of the world we live in today. It's easy to bring out the bad in you than the good.
But some are born imbeciles. They are mostly easy to spot.

This isn’t a Christian be nice forum. We’re mostly all a bunch of dudes who like to banter. We talk shit, a good majority being out of fun. If you have a serious question, it’s usually answered. If you’re thin skinned, then bless I hate to see you on some of the other ruthless forums out there.

The Wrangler TJ forum I was a member of for years had an option to ignore a thread also...just think - no more OCI threads!

My biggest “ah ha” moment was the arguments around color of vehicle.
It made me ponder how I’m very different than my parents, more similar to my brother and we are all family. So this forum is most likely not family and each person has their own unique PoV ( read baggage).

So I will still ask for opinions advice and block the trolls and shine in the complainers and just keep on chatting you all up.

haha... so I'm a Tacoma owner and just bought a 23 OPR about a month ago. I've been lurking in here for two months, gathering intel on the truck, and trying to keep my head down. Think Tacoma World ruined me.:hattip:

Someone did a blind taste test on $300/bottle wines vs. $10/ bottle wine. Pretty much came out a wash.

OP, I'm new here too, and I look at this forum as a cross-section of society. There are some really great people, a few jackasses and a whole lot in between. Like anything else in life, you do your best to ignore the jackasses and try to enjoy your interactions with everyone else. Don't let a few ruin your impressions of an otherwise great forum full of good info and entertaining conversations and opinions.
