Greenlane Offroad accessories, complete...well almost.....If I decide I need a winch if I can ever really get out to do any off road beyond light trails for camping and need a winch...I'll buy their bumper.
    For now, this will do.
    These guys do great work.

Did the gutter guard trick this afternoon, from Home Depot; $3.58 per piece; 36”x6”. Black powder coated Diamond mesh. Maybe stop some rocks and bugs from ending up all over the radiator.IMG_1138.jpg IMG_1139.jpg

After the first 100 miles of mixed driving I can happily report the drone has been reduced by roughly 60% over the TRD exhaust. For the first time, the noise from the tires could be heard over the drone! At idle, you barely notice any exhaust sound. Taking off from a light it comes alive a little and you know something is there. When you really step on it, she comes alive with a deep, throaty growl. At highway speeds, 70-80 mph, that's where it shines. You can actually have a conversation without yelling at your passenger. I normally set the radio volume between 17 and 20. I noticed it never got above 15 over the first 100 miles. Except when Tool's "Chocolate Chip Trip" came on. :) I expect some minor changes as the exhaust breaks in. I plan on another 100 mile loop today and will edit this post with any changes.

On my '18 SR5, the gutter guard fit the bottom grill with no cutting. It takes a little finagling to get it in, but there is no need to remove or cut anything. Once it's in, zip tie it. For the upper grill, I made a pattern out of a soda can box. It really is easy to do. Attach with zip ties. Been installed for 3 years with zero issues. Dresses up the grill.

EDIT: I don't have the TSS. I'm not sure if anything would be in the way on the 2020-2024 models.

Little black zip ties. I pounded out the fold in the mesh with a rubber hammer and a 2”X4”. I have TSS so I cut it into two pieces 13 3/4” long and slid them down length wise then turned them sideways to match the lower grille. Zip tied the mesh into place. Haven’t done the smaller and thinner upper grille, not a lot bug action going on up there.

That's interesting! Bugs around here aren't too selective as to where they commit suicide on the front of my 4R.
    P1003755er4R5-7-24.jpg

But at least I'm not having to clean them out of the fins of the radiator/coolers behind the grille. I actually started doing this because I had radiators on a couple of my other rigs punctured by gravel flung up by passing vehicles. That they also serve as a bug catcher is a bonus.

Anybody have a good part number or link to a USB charger port that fits in the factory blank holes (2018 4Runner)? I am going to add a "always on" USB port on the dashboard between the wheel and the door so I don't want it to light up or stay lit. The one I got has sharper corners and looks horrible. Want something that is a bit cleaner/factory looking.

I did it to mine the other day. Take the dozen or so clips out to remove the radiator cover and you have plenty of access from the back. Push on them and they pop up and pull them out.

    IMG_3324.jpg

The bottom section is two pieces either side of the black box (radar?). Each piece is about 13-1/2" x 6-1/2". I pounded the gutter guard flat with a rubber mallet on concrete and it fits perfectly. To cut I tried hacksaw first but found a pair of shears that worked much better. About 6 zip ties will hold each piece tight.

    IMG_3335.jpg

The upper grill section is a strip about 30" by 3-1/2" but has to be trimmed to fit. It's cut-and-paste until it fits. Again, good shears make the job easy. Again, zip ties will hold it tight. Then put the cover back and you're done.

    A couple of more pics:

    IMG_3342.jpg

Back of black box (transmitter/radar?) needs to be unplugged if you remove the grill which is not necessary for the gutter guard installation though. It covers the center part of the lower grill completely which is why you need two pieces.

Thanks but it's my dad's but helps so much! It would have taken twice as long if we had to do it on the ground.
