Recently had a shop lift my 4Runner 3” on OME BP51 coilovers with UCA’s. Now at slow speeds I hear a creeking noise coming from the front end and am being told it’s my lower control arm bushings. Before I go order new low control arms is there anything else I should be looking for?

This noise did not happen before the lift was installed.. any suggestions appreciated

Have someone locate the actual noise epicenter with a stethoscope to be sure.

Your angles are likely different, so I would expect noise, but I'd verify exactly where it is.

Ok so this.. they didn’t relocate the sway bar and it’s not rubbing on the coil spring but I did notice this.. IMG_8404.jpg IMG_8403.jpgI’m thinking I might disconnect my sway bar and try to move it off that piece and see if that helps..

I'm pretty sure that is your noise by looking at that picture. What are those bars/pipes it is hitting?

So I disconnected my sway bar and that ended up being the noise! After disconnecting it I realized I had to take off those bars/pipes you’re referring to to get the sway bar fully out. I’m pretty sure the bars are there primarily to hold my front skid plate on. I probably should’ve just taken those bars off before disconnecting the sway bar but it was too late and I just wanted it off. How bad is it to drive without the sway bar? I took it for a pretty good test drive and it seems totally fine. Has anyone else had this issue after installing a lift? And is there a remedy for it? I’m assuming maybe either relocation bracket or adjustable links?

I would want the sway bar on for street driving. I would find a way to re-fasten skid plate.

It looks like they installed spacers on the sway-bar mounts, causing them to hit your radiator support brackets. You can see them here

You probably want those brackets back on there. They tie the radiator frame to the rest of the frame. It’s probably used as part of the crash structure and strengthens the radiator frame enough for towing it by the tow loops.

Running without the sway bar isn’t a big issue in normal controlled driving. But it might become a problem during evasive maneuvers. Weight will transfer much more, which can load up one corner, and cause it to dig in. Rolling over or having the rear end step out on you during an evasive maneuver are the biggest risks.

Yea I realized those brackets are rad support brackets so I threw them back on. It’s just one bolt per bracket, I don’t see it connecting to the radiator at all unless the skid plate bolts do that part? I didn’t re install my skid plate yet but plan to tomorrow. I also am about to order the Toytec Sway bar relocation bracket (shown above/below) which comes with a slimmer rad support bracket so it should clear the sway bar.

In lifted 2.5” in the front and had zero of these problems. So kind of confused unless they did something unique to your ride as to why the seat bar is so close to the frame.
