    Going to look at a couple 4Runners that have a lift on them. What should I really keep a look out for to see if they did a lot of off roading or drove it like a maniac?

    2021 ORPrem

    44k miles one owner

    gold certified by dealer

    asking for $42k out the door.

    testing and negotiating with them tomorrow morning.

    I would try to see if 4hi, 4low and locker are working (only drive straight just a little, no turning on pavement in 4hi or 4low), then drive it (in 2hi) and see if there's anything feels wrong, like some clunking on bumps for example. Then I would look underneath for any undercarriage damage, signs of repair, leaks or excessive rust. I hope somebody comes up with other ideas, I'm not very mechanical inclined and not sure how to check lift : ) Well maintained 3 years old 4Runner with that mileage should drive like new.

    Those sidesteps suggest a poser mallcrawler build. As @scanny suggested, check 4hi, 4low and locker are working, because the previous owner may not have exercised those functions.

    If you post pictures of the suspension, we can point out what lift it might have installed.

    I know nothing about those.

    @3JOH22A That’s good to know.

    should I worry much about that lift causing issues down the road or does that small of a lift make a big difference?

    ^The kit has adjustable lift height via circlips on the front shocks. It doesn't look lifted by much in that photo.

    Make sure those Raptor Lights work. They're worth like an extra 43HP or something. Seriously though. Other than that, looks like a decent rig.

    Good idea, posting some pics of with the wheels turned out of each shock will help the spot any obvious issues.

    This 4runner will have a transfer case shifter, instead of a electric dial selector. Watch a few videos on how to properly actuate 4hi, 4lo, and the rear locker. Doing any of these things incorrectly will feel like something is broke.
