Passenger front and rear floorboard wet NO sunroof and Vehicle not driven!

They put the water drainage there for a reason. Every car has them. As long as it’s clean you’re good to go. Soapy water or vinegar can help.

 

It seems that you still have an issue. I get that the channel was blocked but if it’s leaking from the windshield wouldn’t that say that your windshield is not correctly sealed and the channel is just there to help if the seal is not complete.

 

Whippersnapper, do you have that TSB number for rear hatch seal? I have not had that issue yet but nice to know about TSB if water intrusion occurs in rear cargo area.

Well, I hope you are wrong. Over a week for the Stockinteriors.com rug to come in and they forgot the Jute padding. I do not want to do this over again.

 

Maybe you missed my point. If the water originated outside, but ended up inside, where/how did the water enter the cabin? Or stated another way, what's the purpose of this channel which clogged? If to transport outside water from one point to another outside point, then how did it get inside?

 

Sorry, I misunderstood you. I’m not an engineer but just imagining what happens when your gutters are clogged on the house. You get water to places where normally you would never expect it.

 

^ Yes, in that case water is introduced to places which are not waterproof. My question is, where is that point on the truck in this case?

 

So I have the cowl back on and am going to put the vehicle back outside this weekend and hose it down for a good while. Hopefully I either find that actual leak or do not find a leak.

Push something into the drainage then take it to a carwash. Please record it with a camera so we can all see your great discovery. Do you really think OP will further investigate his truck? He is happy that I told him what to check and it solved his problem.

 

It is back in the rain now to see if it holds. I am waiting on Jute padding so further investigation is going on. I have seat heaters to install, camera system to put in and then the rug and interior. I want to ensure this is fixed and fixed right so I will try to run it to ground until I am sure it is fixed.

Luckily we have a few vehicles so we don't need this daily to commute or anything. I just brought out the 76 F100 and put it into daily use.

 

^ Good logic! I wish we knew if there's a seam sealer or weld issue allowing the "backed-up" water column to enter. It would take someone who has had the windshield out, inspecting the A pillar to learn this. Could it even be a gap in the windshield sealer?

 

Sooo. shit news. I think it is the windshield. Had it in the rain this week and had a small amount of water in the passenger floor board. I think the clogged drain was just diverting it there faster. So I will make calls today to get this thing into get the windshield replaced.
