Yeah, I was mostly referring to the base LC. If I'm going to end up paying $50K for a 4Runner, why not just spend another 6K? I will have to see where pricing actually ends up, obviously.

Maybe a bit more like this color. Even darker though.

yeah i dont see any LC250 1958 going for less than 58k with FIO/PIO options. dont expect any LC250 1958 selling at base price.

thats a sensitive price point jumping from around 50k to 58k, you are looking at roughly $160 increase in car payment.

With the caveat that I have not seen the new gen in person, its growing on me a bit. I liked the official toyota video from the other day, the vehicle "showed" better than countless YT videos. The ones I like are likely going to touch 50K, and as @Thatbassguy says, why not jump up and start considering a LC. Or maybe in my case GX 550, because I like the looks of it better, unfortunately.
Its all wishing though -- can not justify financially getting rid of a 2023 vehicle just yet. Maybe I will watch on the sidelines while this one gets tested by "early adopters" :)

Yeah. I don't recall that color as having the pearl aspect to it. I have Nautical blue, and it shows different hues on different angles/surfaces of the truck, and in different lighting. I'm imagining the dark wine doing something similar.

I'm not comparing car payments. I'm just saying that an $8K price difference isn't enough to prohibit me from looking at the Landcruiser.

I'd look at both closely and then decide what I really wanted. Which is a much different situation than it was for the last few decades, when Landcruisers were nearly double the price of the 4Runner.

Trailhunter so far, the Everest paint with bronze accents is right up my alley. But I'll wait until the whole line up of colors is released.

Love the car HATE the color. I didn't want to use the word hate but that's truly how I feel towards all shades of Maroon. Brick red, Maroon Red, LipStick they are all the same. Any red shade other than Red or Dark red can be forgotten. My wife has tried to talk me into buying maroon cars over the years and I had to quickly NIP that in the bud. If you want red make it BOLD and beautiful. A Real red. If I was to buy a new T4R Maybe a dark Navy Blue Tan interior, or a Dark Forest Green Tan Interior, or even just Black with black interior like I own now. Ive had lots of black cars. Black never fails to impress when it's cleaned and waxed.

I don't buy red cars but if I DID.. Something like this suits me. Or the slightly darker red.

I'm partial to classic Silver. That platinum pic floating around is the best looking I've seen, with the quicksand adjacent one being next. SR5P probably still fits all my needs, but I'd get whatever I could afford that didnt have black fender flares.

How long to find out when colors are available for each trim? Around summer or so? Considering the jump to TH just to have Everest.

Im not planning on getting one right now (really happy with my 2023) but 5-6 years out I will need to decide if I want to keep the '23 Pro forever, or trade it up. At that point I would most likely get the Trailhunter or Pro. Would need to test drive both to decide...

Not for certain I would get one, but it's growing on me. I would say that the TRD or is going to be the sweet spot once again, and I really like the tan color.

I'll wait to see some real world reviews of them before I decide between the hybrid or not.

We probably won't 100% know for sure until the configurator drops and we can start picking through trims, options, packages, etc. I personally have no idea when that tends to happen for new Toyota models. I wouldn't be too surprised if the SR5 comes in only white, black, grey and silver.

Interesting tidbit from Longo Toyota here in SoCal; apparently all the orders for higher end 24 trims that won’t get fulfilled are being transferred to 25 and getting priority on TH/Pro trims. Dealer advised me to stick with my ORP, because the waitlist is already about 60 deep and a possible 2 year wait as far as trail hunter. Idk how much that tracks, but it was relayed to me.

dealers can start a wait list prior to order banks open up. they probably will fill those orders based on the wait list. this happened on the 22+ tundra. the trd pro's got pushed out 12-16 months wait list.

heck my allocation reserve request took 10 months to fulfill on the wife tundra platinum

now a days the real unicorn on the 2024+ tundra's is the platinum off road version (off road package didnt exist prior to 2024)

If I went with a 6th gen, it would be the Pro or Trailhunter trim. In all reality, I’ll probably keep the 5th gen and go with a GX550 in Nori Green. Toyota hit the nail on the head with the GX this time around.

Not to mention, the service departments at the Lexus dealer are so much nicer, quicker at service, and accommodating.

I would love a GX, only issue I have with it is that it's bigger and presumably will be much heavier than the 6th gen 4R. Theoretically, again just theoretically, the 6th gen with the I4 (w/o hybrid) maybe will be a smidge lighter than the 5th gen.

Crooks at Jeep are offering this package only on their funny 2.0L turbo, not on 3.6L Pentastar.
    Things are getting shitty everywhere

Sheesh, thanks for all the info- you’ve been great with all the questions! I’m looking to get out of my Crosstrek asap. Downsized from a Taco to get me through the first year of my union apprenticeship- but I cannot stand this thing. My snowboard doesn’t fit in it, and 2 dogs plus camping gear for my girlfriend and I is plenty uncomfortable for everyone involved lol.

The GX550 and Landcruiser are actually smaller than the 6th Gen 4Runner in all dimensions other than height. Lots of people are saying how if pricing overlaps between the highest trim 4Runners and the Landcruiser or GX, that they will go with those instead. I was somewhat cross shopping them as well but appreciate the better ground clearance of the 4Runner, despite being very surprised to hear that it’s actually longer and I believe the same or slightly wider. The shorter length will prob help some approach and departure but then the Landcruiser and GX have I think 0.75 inches lower ride height and that’s just base trims vs base trims. Between the ground clearance and gas mileage (extrapolated based on Tacoma hybrid and Landcruiser) I am going with the 6th Gen 4Runner but think that a Nori Green Overtrail GX550 is the most handsome among the bunch. It’s just the gas mileage being abysmal really gets to me.

Last night, parked next to a fully tricked out 5th gen that had me salivating.

Absolutely gorgeous lunar rock with all the offroad trimmings, lift, spare tire rack on the rear, aftermarket rims, aftermarket rack on the roof and the hood, offroading jack, aggressive tires, spare water and fuel tanks, and even had some very light classic side scratches from a tight trail. Not sure why he would take that beast to the tightest and most packed retail shopping parking lot in town, but it had me rethinking a 6th gen buy for a hot minute. :D

Depending on the price points the 4R comes in at, I think the Overtrail base with sunroof delete at 68k is the way to go. I also will take mine in Nori green.
