Good morning, my wife and I have a deposit on a 2024 SR5 Premium. We are trading a 2023 Crown, We are in our sixties, and love the Crown, particularly the fuel mileage. However, we find ourselves using the Tundra on long trips, as we feel more comfortable, particularly getting in and out, for me. First ever 4 Runner, looking to learn stuff. Thanks very much.

We will definitely be adding running boards of some kind. I will be looking for suggestions on that. Thanks.

Welcome! The Crown is a great car! I have driven two of them and they are very nice. I am also shopping for a 4Runner and have been for nine months. I just can't decide which trim I want because I like different things about all of the trims. I can't wait to see pics of your new ride soon!

The Crown is great, particularly the fuel mileage. We find ourselves more comfortable in my Tundra though. So we are trading for a 4 Runner.

    Welcome.

There will be a big luxury feel difference in the Crown vs the 4Runner, even the Limited trim. I hate moving someone off of a 4Runner, but I would also cross shop the Venza. The new model is up to par with a base model Lexus.

Indeed. Not giving up much going from from the Crown XLE to the 4 Runner SR5 Premium. As far as features go, automatic folding mirrors, and the mirrors tilting down in reverse ,are the only thing that come to mind. We took the Tundra recently for a long drive to view the eclipse, because we both find ourselves more comfortable in it. Both on the long drive, and getting in and out. We actually test drove both a Venza and Highlander before buying the Crown. I couldn't even get in the Venza. The Highlander was fine, but being retired, and no grandchildren, and coming from a Camry, we opted for the Crown. We were very happy with the Crown, very sharp looking car, and incredible fuel economy. We just seemed more comfortable in the truck. Two Tundras would be illogical, Taco was option, but two vehicles without the ability to comfortably carry other passengers was also illogical. I like the idea of the proven motor and transmission in the 4 Runner which disappears next year. This vehicle could potentially get us to the finish line. Very sharp looking rig in my opinion as well.
