I just recently traded my 2021 Taco for a 2024 4R Pro. I'm a little paranoid about catalytic converter theft, especially on high ground clearance vehicles. While looking at it to possibly etch my vin number on it, I noticed the TRD Pro skid plate is either different from the skid plate on the Taco's or it's a new design. 4bolts vs 6 bolt mounting and no oil filter access door.
(Yes, I know about the theft shields but they're all over priced and over designed. Etching the vin number and some high strength cabling does the job.)

Not sure what your question is exactly, but yes the OEM TRD Pro skid plates are different between the Tacoma and 4Runner. Due to that difference I ended up buying an engine skid plate from RCI as it has an access door for the oil filter. https://rcimetalworks.com/product/10-24-4runner-front-skid-plate/ with https://rcimetalworks.com/product/10-24-4runner-filler-plate-stock-bumper/

Cali raised has a cat cover that I like over all the one's I've seen so far but I do not own it. https://caliraisedled.com/products/catalytic-converter-shield-for-2010-2024-4runner

Thanks. That cat plate set does have a decent price. Looks like another hit in the old wallet.

Etching the VIN does not stop thefts, it simply keeps some recyclers honest. Cat thefts are an epidemic where I live and I am going to get a good skid plate with the cat guards. The cost alone is around the same as what my comprehensive deductible is anyways, so it is worth it.

Greenlane Offroad makes a nice skid which includes the filter and plug access with the option of adding on the transmission skid plate and cat guards. Plus you can sell the TRD skid and recoup a couple dollars.

I currently have a stainless steel MillerCat cat shield for sale on the 5th Gen 4Runner Parts Marketplace, that apparently no one is interested in. It works with most skid plates. Make me an offer!

Thanks. It sounds like the route I'd want to go but I just bought my 4R and the wallets taken a big hit. I think your price is fair so I won't insult you with some low ball offer. I will keep it in mind though.
