From all videos I have seen so far base does not come out like it does in 5th gen, here it’s the whole seat folds forward.

The only thing I like about this lame thing is the swaybar disconnect. Looking forward to see it on the ramp.

trims with hybrid battery is better with seats folded, not tilted, but still not flat.

This is just stupid. Even if you don’t want to sleep it definitely cuts down on larger items you may want to transport. This is a big miss in my opinion.

No more sleeping in the back I guess, if you get a hyrbrid. Thats kind of a bummer as I've done that quite a few times in my 4th gen.

Maybe add a riser in the back half to flatten?

hopefully the platinum trim sits in the 60-62k range, otherwise thats the same price i paid for our 23 tundra platinum 4x4 5ft loaded with avs, hud and auto boards.

may have to jump down to the limited with hybrid and 4wd with locking center diff and i hope the platinum isnt over loaded with chrome like it is on the tundra capstone or limited tacoma

    And more main bearings.

Weird. In the video I watched, it folded down and flipped forward.

Looks like a simple 4 inch memory foam fix but still seems like they didn't think that one through.

Looks like the same tumble-fold 2nd row the LC has. So it'll be about as flat as before with two levels - just inverted. Not sure if we'll have more length than current two-row models with the seat-bottoms folded up.

    upload_2024-4-9_22-7-16.png

Can't say I'm surprised but disappointed by the packaging here - the optional hybrid battery sits on top of the floor there, that'll make for a much more awkward cargo situation despite the hybrid benefits.

Driving Sports TV says it's a smidge narrower and longer than the LC. I didn't like a Passport when I drove it for it's width (78.5") so I imagine this would be the same.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0tnwzcXkMA

I don't mind the I4 turbo at all as long as it has dual injection. I even like the styling! Whether it'll age well is something else but I at least think it's slick today. That Trailhunter color might unseat Toyota's old dark green metallic (see: 3rd gen 4Runners) as my favorite.

My bigger bone to pick other than the seat situation and the overall growth is the gatekeeping of the hybrid and full-time system to upper trims.

Same deal as before and I get it's to push folks upmarket but it still annoys me since the 4th gen had full-time standard in 4WD models and I don't really care for the fancier features beyond the mechanical bits.

At least this time I'll probably be able to fit in sunroof-equipped models (couldn't in 5th gens) since this likely shares the Tacoma's increase in headroom.

I'm sure these will have no trouble selling.

The batteries have to go somewhere. You know why I didn't buy a Wrangler? No, before anyone gives me the Toyota is more reliable BS. That was not the reason, JL Wrangler is solid too. Two reasons, IFS is more comfortable and second 4Runner has a city block worth of cargo space. 4Runner just lost an edge

First hybrid battery fire and they are done. Are the batteries safe do they still have liquid based electrolytes cells or is it solid state now? I am not a battery expert. What if they get soaked under water I mean you are offloading in this thing right?

they are safe. Nickel metal hydride. Not lithium. Same as they have been using in their hybrids for sometime.

I can’t speak to that with trucks but no more Hemi V8 Challengers and no more Camaro for sure. Hell they want to get rid of my damn leaf blower and Honda stopped making lawn mowers and snow blowers last year.

most likely Metal hydride battery. at least it wont go up in smoke like the tesla battery pack if its punctured and since it sits higher up wont have any issues.

NiMH like the Tundra and Tacoma, 20 year-old hybrid tech, very robust. And it's above the cargo floor (where the third row would otherwise be). If you flood that area you'll need a tow.

Have you guys all been sleeping when the Tundra debuted in 2022 and the Tacoma debuted in November last year?

If you’re an uptown girl you have the LC but a downtown boy gets the 4R

FYI in 14 states (including WA), the dealers are only allowed to stock plug-in hybrid Wranglers (4xe).

People here losing their minds over a standard snorkel on the Trailhunter, meanwhile Jeeps have this

Maybe that’s part of the green movement. They don’t want us sleeping out there anymore ? Too much Co 2 we are emitting in the wilderness?

you still can but since the 2nd row tumbles forward, you lose some length on the folded seat compared to the 5th where only the bottom cushion folded forward.

probably losing about 3-6 inches from back of folded seats to rear hatch lenth wise for laying flat for sleeping.

Sorry if I missed this but did they say where it would be manufactured? Still in Japan or does it move to Texas or perhaps Mexico?
