I can't for the life of me determine amongst the million colors at Lowes for wood fill, stain, wtc. what kind I need.

Any body got a keen eye for what kind of wood floors and color I have?

Need to fill some small chips in the floor before I move.

    Thanks!

Maybe this color? I know this is just stain.

How small/large are the chips? If they're not much bigger than some of those knots in the existing print, I'd recommend one of those marker "fix-it" kits. At Lowes here. In my experience, trying to pick a stain color off the name of the wood species never works.

Oh that's smart! Didn't even think of that. The chips are smaller than a dime. Mostly at the corner of boards.

Honestly have no idea how it even happened. I've had wood floors my whole life but this wood is the softest shittiest wood floors of any house I've been in.

Maybe take your pic with you and take a guess. Small chips won't be noticeable if filled.

Or take some paint chips home and match, then buy the filler???

Those color pens work pretty well especially if the coverage area isn't large and the color is close in matching. Try a small inconspicuous spot first.

Golden Oak would be my first guess, especially if the house was built in the 1990's.

I think you're right. And it was in fact built in 1997.
