Hood Scoop Sun Glare

I just get a TRD Pro that has the hood skewp (AKA panty dropper) and the early morning sun reflection on the hump when driving East is terrible. I've decided to get it partially vinyl wrapped in a flat black color to match the scoop itself but can't decide on a pattern that looks decent. Soooo...I've come to the epitome of knowledge to ask humbly about some ideas or even pictures (hood wraps of course but hood wraps with women would be a plus).

I wear sunglasses so it doesn’t seem to be an issue.

 

Man, I drove a 2010 TRD Sport Tacoma 4WD with a skewp for 12+ years before I got my 4Runner Limited. Never saw any panties drop

 

Not all vinyl is equal. 3m has a textured one that prevents a lot more glare than typical wraps, mine has a small honey comb pattern that works great but I forgot which 3m vinyl it is specifically. The pattern is not noticeable past 4' or so

 

Matte finish = no glare

 

Flat matte finish vinyl, no more glare

Well, I picked up some satin black (cause it matched the finish on the insert the best) yesterday and here's how it turned out. I temporarily removed the insert so I could rap it without any gap.

I found a style that I liked that was sold online (Etsy), took a photo of it with my phone and took it to my local wrap shop. The wrap shop charged me $125 out the door which included their materials and labor. The item sold on Etsy sells for around $70 and only covers the back portion of the scoop and not the inlet.

Not sure, his response is it covers back and inlet of scoop??? 17 looks like the Etsy. Thought his wrap guy did a custom. Could be wrong.

 

I did mine by myself with the 3M film (2080 black matte).
The outer contours are cut with the 3M "knifeless tape", which is applied on the hood before/under the film. Then you can carefully tear the thread through the film. A bit of practice, but works well.
When the sun is low, the glare is not completely gone but most of it.

 

He stated that the $70 Etsy one only covered the back and not the inlet.

Just ordered one off yodavinyl for 35$ and free shipping. Looks like the one in post 17. I have a couple strips of CF vinyl covering the scoop now.

 

Yeah, it does something. It glares.

 

I’m tracking now, I have a taco in white and the inlet is already black. My 4Runner is black so I didn’t put 2and 2 together that the whole scoop is color matched. Thanks
