Hey guys I have a Toyota 4Runner 2011 195k mileage I recently purchased it but it has some rust and I was wondering if you guys suggest any undercoating i can use for the rust I already have. I provided some pictures, and I think rather than going to a shop I can do this myself! So any suggestions or ideas help!

Wire Wheel it and apply fluid film.

That's the front diff. Parts are either cast or forged steel; some areas will rust while still on the dealer's lot. You don't need to do anything there. Focus your efforts on the frame and cab floor, particularly near the cab mounts.

I will second that, cast iron parts such as differential and transfer case rusting is not an issue. It just looks ugly.

Focus your effort on first cleaning out inside of the frame (i.e., vigorous washing) and then spraying oil-based treatment on it. Fluid Film works. Krown works.

Concerning cleaning, has anyone ever used or considered dry ice blasting? From what I've seen it looks viable.

That's what most would call no rust. Not worth doing anything with. Spray some black Cosmoline on it if it bothers you.

Have you gotten quotes for it? A TW member in my area got it done for around $1600.

^ No I haven't gotten a quote. But I thought it looked like a nice balance of effectiveness and harmlessness. There's a laser cleaning method as well but I think one has to shield some things like rubber line first.
