I had 2.5” blocks (Daystar) installed on my 2019 SR5 premium this weekend and paired it with Radar Renegade RT’s 285/70R17 on stock rims. It looks amazing. Although after first drive I got it up to 45mph and the steering wheel started shaking pretty hard side to side. I had an alignment done today and it did not fix the issue. I have read that maybe I need the tires balanced again? Any suggestions?

    thanks ahead of time!

What's the order of all you had done?

I have to say, you're pretty much pioneering the Daystar spacers and Radar Renegade RT's. If anyone on this forum has installed those, they haven't said much about either...

I would start by rotating the tires and see if the shake follows. If so you will certainly need a re-balance. Are all of the fasteners properly torqued from the lift?

I read great reviews about the daystar spacers, but didn’t do too much research on pairing with these tires. Mistake I suppose…

I had lift install and tires all installed at once. Then had the alignment done today. (2 days later). I barely drove on it through the weekend…have not exceeded 50mph.

I plan to have the tires re-balanced tomorrow, and take it from there. I am going to mention it to the shop what the problem is, but I have little faith in them. I was recommended the shop from another 5th gen who had the same install. Different tires but equally as aggressive…

Just for context, did you do anything in the rear, or just level the front? And, were there any issues getting the alignment numbers where they needed to be? If you could post the alignment sheet, that might help.

2.5 in the front, 1.75 in the rear. Although from the looks, I can’t even see anything in the rear. Here is a photo for reference of the front? Does this look right?

Find someone who road force balance your tires. I have it done all the time on my 4runner and no issues. I’m lifted with 285’s.

Have you had Radar tires before, and did they balance well? Are they E-rated? I’m not familiar with the brand.

I have not had them before. My brother had them and spoke very highly of them. They are e-rated.

Looks great! My gut says re-balance those wheels. Find a place with a Hunter machine (you can use the Hunter site to find locations FYI) - then use @nimby's guide on how to get the balanced.

Will definitely recommend the road force balance. I bought some crappy tires for steel wheels (asking to have problems) and road force helped a lot of vibration/shaking issues.

Another thing that I didn't see brought up are tire temps. Even though the tires I bought are considered a hybrid tire (in-between MT and AT), they are a mother to get heat into and keep it there. Even in 40-degree temps and a little higher, I can get an inconsistent wobble at 60 mph.

Problem solved. Took in to a different shop for a re-balance. They said all 4 tires were out of balance. Thank you all!

Good to hear! I've found that some shops don't seem to balance tires as well as others.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

The quickest way to answer that question is for the OP to turn all the way to the right (full lock) in reverse. That's how I found out that my tires rub. They're stock size, but Falken Wildpeaks. First time I heard it, I kind of freaked out. Then I saw it's kind of common.
