It bears repeating that the Henry Ford Museum is a must-see for anyone interested in cars and technology in general.

 

My grandfather was a Chicago cop before WWII and then went into the Navy during WWII. I remember him telling me one of his first jobs was grinding the glass lenses for the headlights of some very early Ford's. Funny thing my grandmother was the first in her family to have a drivers license. When her parents and siblings wanted to go to town from the farm she had to drive them. My family has been in the Illinois area since the mid to late 1800's. We have a family bible dated mid 1700's with all our early family ancestry.

 

That is on my list. Have you ever been to The Petersen in Los Angeles? Went in November while on my trip to the NHRA finals in Pomona and F1 in Las Vegas. We even did a tour of the vault in the basement.

 

Petersen is a National treasure.

 

I was absolutely amazed. As a Canadian, I have only ever experienced small museums before.

 

Not yet, I'll have to check it out the next time I'm out there.

 

10/10 experience for any automotive enthusiast.
