I don’t think I’ve seen this addressed anywhere. I’ve got a 22 TRD Sport. It’s been fully blacked out (except the door handles inside, those are next.) No plans for off-roading yet, so I like the stock 20” wheels on it. I’m pretty sure the center wheels caps for the nightshade wheels would fit on the standard limited wheels. Has anyone tried mix and matching center wheel caps? I think it would be a pretty cool look with just the black center caps on the standard limited style wheels.

Sound off if you’ve done any mix and matching with OEM wheel caps.

I have a '23 Limited with factory 20" wheels, came with black center caps with the shiny "T" logo on them. I've learned the hard way that center caps for a 4Runner won't work on Sequoia wheels, but that's another story. You should be able to easily find black center caps for your wheels on Amazon or eBay. Just make sure they're for a late-model 4Runner, and you should be good.

Powder coated my OEM wheels and spray-painted my OEM caps with hammered black rustoleum. Also sprayed the valve stem caps. Removed chrome emblem prior to spraying center cap.IMG_1403.jpg

Did you have to prep the caps at all before you sprayed them? I got a set of used caps and tried to spray them gloss black, wiped them down with alcohol first, shot them with gray bonding primer. They looked good in primer, but when I sprayed the gloss black (for plastic), the paint didn't cover evenly, and came out terrible.

I noticed those. 275/55’s all good at full tilt? No rubbing?

If there is any rubbing, I haven't heard or noticed it...the 245/60s just looked WAY too skinny...

Thanks, I have a new set of silver wheel caps on the way, couldn't find anything I liked in black, so I'm planning on painting them. I think the gloss black paint I have is Rustoleum, and it's primer and paint combined. I'll hit them with a Scotchbrite pad, wipe down with alcohol, spray them, and hope for the best!

Speaking of wheels. I recently saw a 4Runner for sale on my local Fbook marketplace. They had their TRD Sport wheels powder coated black. See pic. Not my wheels, but I like the look. Called the highest reviewed powder coat shop in town here in SC and guy quoted $162.50 per wheel! $812 for all 5. Seems crazy for powder coat. Anyone out there paid for powder coating wheels? At $812, I may as well buy 17” OR wheels.

The powdercoater I use charged me $85 a wheel for the last set I had done. I removed the valve stems and weights, decided what color I wanted, left them and picked them up a couple of weeks later. These are some wheels I had done when I owned a Jeep Gladiator:

Same shop did these wheels for a BMW I used to have:

Thanks for sharing. I suppose if I don’t just take the wheels up there, the disassembly may be part of the cost. But even then, I’ll keep looking around.

For $700, you could get a set of wheels like these (I like the bronze ones):
