I actually did. It's possible there's more in there so it lasts longer for the longer interval.

Well like I said, it's effective or it isn't at a certain PPM. More doesn't make it more effective.

Yet some racing oils have 1500+ ppm Moly.

The extra moly is needed for Viper Cut 4Runners....so I was told by the kids at Jiffy Lube.

Completely different world than a no power V6 that groans on the street. ZRod oil has more zinc for flat tappet cam engines but that doesn't mean it's good in every application.

Not if you do 85 mph at 4000 RPM for a couple of hours straight

That's not race conditions because your not making full power the whole time although maybe in a runner just to keep speed.

No harm in having more moly to moly contact than metal to metal contact IMHO

Just numbers people don't understand like octane.

If you're not using Toyota gas, part the Runner out. It's ruined. You made Mr Toyoda weep with his head in his hands.

I’ll stick to cheap ass Super Tech from Walmart and Kirkland from Costco or whatever cheap oil that has the API approval. I’ll use the money I saved to buy more 87 octane for my thirsty 11mpg rig.

That's why Toyota requires their dealerships to use Toyota in scheduled maintenance the same way they're required to use genuine parts. Oh wait, they don't.

Dealerships don't care, and Toyota motors will last the 60k warranty period on pretty much any oil

I buy Top tier gas, because they have additives. If Toyota made gasoline additives, I'd buy that too. I don't use crappy gas, never have. It is not about Octane, it is about detergents

They all have federally and state mandated additives that are added when the tanker is loaded but gas is gas in the end and only comes from the same local refineries as all gas comes from in your area.

In all of the 33 years of driving (yes I’m kinda old), I’ve always used the cheapest gas I could find. Never been an issue. I just make sure my maintenance and tune ups are done before or on time.

Now I do use Top Tier electricity for my Tesla.
    Prolongs the battery life.

Top Tier is a Federal certification, but not mandatory.

It’s as good as organic certification on groceries.

This thread is pointless. Look at what you're driving folks. Even an abused 1GR-FE will probably still make 200k. As long as you change your oil and filter with ANY regularity, with ANY oil, and do normal maintenance, it's probably going to outlive just about anything out there.

That's a weak argument. Dealerships operate under numerous corporate requirements, and there are plenty of aftermarket parts they could use that would last the warranty period. Why doesn't Toyota let them use any part that will last 60k miles or whatever threshold they want to set?

What, my dealer told me why I didn't buy the Dr. KDSS components and Iron Man Steel bumper from them lol. Parts and Labor warranty also offered
