I'm looking into running a standalone cooler and am curious what coolers others have went with if possible.

Right now I have a smaller B&M BM-70298 sitting in a box still but I'm not sure if this is enough with it's 13000 btu rating.

I'm thinking about getting another passive one, and then a thermostat that add's in this one above 180. Or just run this thing solo with no thermostat for the fluid (fan turns on at 180 regardless)

I had no idea they rated coolers by the gvw. Apparently this B&M is rated at:

    Gross Vehicle Weight (lbs.)
    14000

I am running the B&M 70268 and it dropped my temps ~10 degrees. What are you doing that concerns you needing a more elaborate setup?

The quick answer is I’m looking at radiator alternatives due to interference with the intercooler plumbing

Appreciate the shout out. I've noticed a decent amount of traffic from this forum so I decided to join over here as well.

Judging by how small the factory "cooler" truly is, I would have no problem recommending something like the 698 kit as a stand alone, most of my 3rd gen 4runner customers do that.

I placed an order, not sure yet which cooler I’ll end up with. It will be a few weeks before I’ll be able to install it and sort things out. I appreciate you making some for the 5th gens!
