Trying to ask if there is anyone else in Puerto Rico who knows what I should do with my 2007 4Runner that I cannot bring back to the mainland because of the rusted frame. I already asked about welders , there aren’t any, and replacing the frame is too costly. Otherwise I believe it has over 120K miles. I also have two Toyota parts the back lock, and a switch w/moto I do not need. If anyone in Puerto Rico can advise me what to do with this car because I’m afraid calling a junkyard is what I’m left with unless I find someone who doesn’t mind having it all for parts.IMG_0873.jpg IMG_0875.jpg

Can’t help with your issue but that’s a damn shame cause it looks like a nice vehicle.

So these two issues with a car that needs to be towed around are a problem.

    • Certificate of pre-inspection by the Puerto Rico Police Division of Stolen Vehicles – You will need to get this from your closest police Precinct. These are only valid for five days so don’t get it too soon before your shipment.

Certificate of “No Fines” from DTOP or “Obras Públicas” – These are only valid for three days so you will need to get it right before you bring your car to the port.

The limited time it takes with a car that needs to be towed everywhere , and then the police are not as efficient than on the Mainland by far. You can be told to go at a certain time they they will say come back in four days and by then the validity is over and if you already paid to have it shipped out you lose that because of this issue. That’s why I want to know if anyone on the island would like it because I’ve already asked and inquired about this.

it’s really upsetting. And all the red tape to bring it back to NJ is almost impossible because they have permits that expire on different days, and there’s no welders even around. It’s a mess. It has a new battery, it’s been up to date with maintenance. And then this happened. We even spoke with the transport people to see if we can just get it back to NJ and deal with it here but Toyota in PR doesn’t even want to fix it or they can’t. So many dead ends.
