    Hi everyone,
I bought my brand new 2023 Toyota 4Runner about a year and a half ago and I have 5500 kms in total. I know I can check fuel economy on the dashboard display however I see 3 options
    1) After reset
    2) After refuel
    3) After start
My question is how can I check the fuel economy on average since I STARTED driving the car?

    Oooh look, another mod.....

You can't. The truck nor the infotainment system doesn't keep a history of that. If you want to keep records of what MPG's or MPT (Miles Per Tank) you're getting, I suggest you start writing it down. You can also use apps, I know Fuely tracks all your fill up's and stuff. But again, YOU have to supply the data so they can store it.

After Reset is the option for that. Just don't reset it, and you're good to go. I'm pretty sure that's it's purpose on this car.

For those counting: mine settled into 18.8 when I first got it, now down to 18.4 (this is over 30k miles). I normally leave the tank mpg and range up, and just check the overall occasionally.

It's not possible (that I'm aware of), with 4Runners. I can't speak about other cars. The "Miles Per Tank" gets reset to 0 and starts over every time you refuel.

Whats the point of keeping track of mpg on a 4runner? There's just to many variables.

Just don't think about it and smile when your at the pump refueling every 300-350 miles

If you've never used the reset button on the mpg screen, this is the way.

That after reset option is the one you want. As said above, just don't ever reset the screen with the mpg display. There's no constant static information stored anywhere besides that spot.

I have a different dash but same info being referenced

As stated the only way is to never reset the "Average" MPG.....BUT if you ever disconnect the battery or it becomes totally discharged the average MPG will reset when you reconnect the battery or recharge the battery.

^ I think there is some internal battery as well, where you don't lose all the information if the battery is not disconnected for too long.

I changed my battery last year, and didn't lose that or the radio presets.
