T12 Head Unit Review?

Anyone install the Car Trim Home T12 head unit? Be great to hear a personal review.

Avoid the T12 at the moment. The fitting of the air vents is not perfect, and it does hamper the airflow a bit.
Apparently a new improved T12 is coming out mid/end March.

 

Good deal. Yeah, I’d like to see a 2nd version. Overall fit looks great online. Would appreciate seeing it in person once it comes out. Anyone plan on buying V2?

 

I have to give it to them for the implementation and design.
The fit and finish is also at the level of name brand units.
I almost bought the T10 V2.1 but then I stumbled upon the 2021 OEM unit.
I rather have 4 features that work all the time then 15 that work half the time. But your preference may vary.

 

T10 v3.1 - look at that one. I feel fits the 4Runner dash better the screen above the dash is being overdone now a days and all vehicles try to have it and only a select few can pull it off

 

I bought one of these alibaba head units for my Subaru… it was terrible.

terrible startup speed.

lose compatibility with stock rear view camera… annoying android warning dings everytime the car starts.

It fails at basic functionalities.

ended up going back to oem and radio

 

That's a good unit and I'll be getting one soon. There is a sea of garbage out there but the guy who's run Cartrimhome.com is all in. He's got forums for the products and continually specifies improvements to the products. All the other stuff similar from god knows who is problematic. This guy stands behind his products while most don't.

 

Same. He seems to live on that fb group and not one post goes unanswered or unresolved. He also just released a heated steering wheel for the 4Runner.. looks OEM fit and finish.

 

Shhhhh. I don't want him to get out of stock before I get mine

 

Anyone here have the T10 2.1? Curious how the UI is (any lagging with navigation or issues with the software)

 

If you YouTube the radio you can see some guys using them. The UI looks snappy. Only reason I would consider these is because to UI actually looks smooth and not laggy - because that would be a deal killer for me. There is also the car launcher UI - GAMMA look it up.

Only other item is, my oem stereo has that the maintenance section you can input stuff and it keeps track of it with mileage etc.. I find that useful and one less thing I need to notepad and keep track myself..
