    Oooh look, another mod.....

    I'm willing to bet $20 that you still have stock (AKA: Street) tires on your truck. The Dunlop's always give better MPG's than KO2's/Falken's, Nitto's or other A/T-Mud Terrain tires.

    Even at 46mph average, that's really good, unless it was all downhill and coasting, which - of course - would be cheating! LOL!

    What's the setup of your Runner? Trim/model? Tires? Lifted?

    FWIW, I can (very) occasionally see 21mpg on mine downwind and/or downhill. Usually it's 17.5-18.5mpg. Running a 1" lift in front and KO2's (OEM size 265x17) on a 21 Venture with a Yakima MegaWarrior rack. The wife's 22 Limited routinely sees 20mpg. Her Limited is completely stock.

    About half and half. 60 mph for about a 12mile stretch. And yes, OEM tires. Mostly bought the tdr as a impulse purchase and would have been better buying the SR5 version with 4 whl drive, but the Solar Octane color caught my eye and didn't really research the other models. So probably over bought but she shue is pretty! Ha!. Spending my kids inheritance!

    You would create so much road rage with other drivers if you cruised that slow on California roadways. The typical cruise control speed on California highways and interstates are usually 70-80mph (if there is no traffic). California drivers usually have poor miles per gallon. I’m in the 11-12mpg range with my heavy ass rig. I’d be extremely happy to get the 17mpg’s that I was getting when I first bought the damn thing.

    Where you guys located and driving to get these high MPG’s?

    Northern Nevada for me. Very remote. Example: Took a drive last Saturday to hike up a canyon I wanted to see. 85 miles down, 85 miles back. I saw only two other vehicles the whole time - and those were late in the day as I was almost home. Out here I can stop in the middle of the road and take all the photos I want and not worry about other traffic. If I'm on a busy road, of course I do at least the speed limit. And my mileage drops way down. Point is, I'm very happy with the mileage on my 4Runner. I was using my Jeep Wrangler for similar trips and no way could I get much above 16 mpg.

    The High Sierras - Donner Pass area. We'll get a few inches if we're lucky, and it will melt off in a day or so. Mostly all we get out of these storms is high winds and tumbleweeds on the move. But that's why Nevada is a desert.

    My new goal to meet or exceed. St Louis Missouri for me and mixed driving routes so will be happy with anything above 22 mpg. A far cry from my 28 to 30 mpg with my Diesel gladiator, but then again, 87 Ron vs. #2 Diesel is anywhere from 60 cents to a buck cheaper per gallon.

    Under the best conditions I did a 500 mile trip the other day and got 17 mpg at an average speed of 72. That's a win for me with the lift and 285's. Would be nice to get better but still happy with a vehicle like this.

    I have the location tag to prove it, but it would dox me so that's blurred out. But you can see my previous fill up (odometer and pump) to corroborate that the miles on the trip are genuine and are consistent with the odometer, as are the time stamps. The tank was completely filled with the fuel added, no early cutoff. Regular E10 btw, mine is a 4wd.

    On my cross country trip last week I went approximately 360 miles from filling up in Grants NM to Amarillo on about 16 gallons. Had a major tailwind behind me. Glad I wasn't going West at that time! Wind was howling!! I put on 5000 miles that trip and managed right around 17 MPG.

    Another 60hp for starters and the mpg hasn't changed even when running AT tires.

    Prior the supercharger, my trips home to Wyoming were 14-16mpg. The long climb from St. Joseph, MO up to the continental divide in WY took a toll on fuel economy. I very rarely would get into 5th gear even on the gradual climb across Nebraska. It just stayed in 4th. If the wind picked up, it was routinely back and forth between 3rd and 4th with NO 5th gear.

    Two things that I have noticed with the supercharger. 1) The altitude normalization really helps with fuel economy at altitude. I routinely spend months above 6,500ft out west. It makes a huge difference. 2) The low end torque is amazing. If you can handle not using cruise control, it will stay at very low revs through most elevation changes by harnessing this torque. Toyota's shift points suck and they don't change with supercharger ecu flash. Maybe someday, that will get fixed.
