Do these kits help reduce the front-end nose dive on stock suspension?

They do? How so? With this kit, the same shocks and springs are used. As an Engineer I should understand this but I'm at a loss how this is possible.

 

Geometry changes of the upper and lower control arms change the way the vehicle rides. anything over 1” uses an internal spacer which adds preload to the coil. This also changes the way the vehicle rides. Stock suspension is extremely soft and mushy. Adding the internal spacer slightly firms up the front suspension and improves ride quality.

 

So this preload is the increased distance between the UCA and LCA? Does this mean suspension travel is now less than OEM? Thanks.

 

You're not changing the overall length of the shock in terms of travel. You’re essentially changing the rest position of your shock meaning the shock rod is further out of the shock body at the rest position. Same goes for the rear. Spacer sits on top of the coil spring. This does change down travel as your shock is your limiting factor.

There are different spacer designs. With a spacer that sits on top of the strut up front, a 1.5” thick spacer yields 3” actual lift. This does change the overall length of the strut. This style spacer can cause issues with bottoming the shock out of you don’t add longer bump stops to limit up travel. That is not how these spacers are designed for that very reason. The Cornfed design also rides significantly better than the thick spacers that sit on top of the strut.

what exactly does a cornfed suspension or leveling kit do for the vehicle?

I have a 24 Limited and about to put 255/75r17, ive seen other LE with bigger tires and no lift and looks like not much room left in wheel well. Dont want to do a new suspension yet b/c my XREAS is new and enjoying it. Thinking maybe 1/2-1” in front only just to maybe decrease rake a little and more room for tire.

- does it add ground clearance?
- will my ride get stiff?
- will my suspension travel decrease offroad?

- decrease mpg? No, you will decrease MPG with your larger heavier tires though.

 

Would a 3/4 or 1inch be preferable on a stock 4th gen with oem size tires. Xreas swapped to oem size kyb. Looking to add a bull bar and avoid front end sag.

 

Bull bar weighs nothing and won’t cause sag. Usually 1.5” is ideal for leveling a 4th Gen. picture below for reference.
