they are not invasive..TWRA stocks them yearly in our watershed..they can not reproduce in freshwater.. but they thrive and eat EVERY smaller fish.. so they take out alot of smallmouth an largemouth...before they can get bigger.. the numbers of stripers have been way down last several years.

Another month or so it’ll be time to break out the big gun(8wt) and sling for some Stripers!

Fun fish, I had to manuver over and under about ten downwd trees, to get to this spot. Then where I thought one was laying paid off! It fought hard all I could think about was get him up out of the brush, but. It ended up twisting around a branch. It just splashed i thought for sure it would come off. It came untangled and i landed it!

Early pic (~1960 or 61) Me, my dad, my mom, and my grandmother's boyfriend in So Cal. Should be about the year before my first deep-sea trip with Mom & Dad. I'm holding 2 barracudas and Mom is holding a bonito.

    upload_2024-2-27_9-26-49.jpg

My dad, a neighbor and Mom: Check out the "barry" she is holding!! The Chevy in the background was supposed to be my first car until a drunk totaled it!

I credit these times as the inspiration to become a Marine Biologist (took me 30 years but I did it!)

Don't know where you live but be careful about feeding salmonids to dogs! WSU had several grizzly bears (from inland populations) get poisoned a few years back!

I know, I know...you did see my kidding nature in my post? And yes a Blue that size demands a chair for an afternoon...but I want to give proper kudos if @MEski4x4 landed this monster with just a body belt!
