Just picked up some C4 sliders, can't wait to get them powder coated and installed.

I was looking at C4, Westcott and RSG but ultimately decided to pull the trigger and go with C4. I preferred C4's kick out and step plate design. The sliders are angled up, but their step plates are still flat up to the body before they angle down. It's the best of both worlds, I get a nice angled up slider that tucks up, but the wife and kids still get a nice step plate with good traction.

TSO also now released their slider which is very similar to C4's design, also another great option to consider

Hey @oldtimer, @Stoney Ranger, and @Spare Parts how do you guys like the 4xInnovations sliders? I am strongly considering them for their sliders and skid plates. But first things first, I need to get sliders on the 4Runner after taking off my predator tube steps. The major thing putting me off of getting them is the installation process. Other than that, prepping the frame with additional undercoating/POR-15 and also getting the sliders powdercoated doesn't seem too hard.

Also, @Stoney Ranger did you install the gas tank skid at the same time when you installed the sliders? I figure that would make sense since you have to drop the OEM gas tank skid to install the sliders. What are your thoughts regarding the whole 4xInnovations setup (sliders, drivetrain skid set, and fuel tank skid)?

I recently installed my Cali raised sliders. Installation was easy IMO, I did it by myself with a couple Jack stands. They are about 70lbs I think and only one hole was every so slightly off but I was still able to bolt it through.

Thank you, they're around 120 lbs ship weight, I will have to get an updated weight. I now use a much thicker frame plate for my bolt ons. Current lead time on sliders is around 10-14 days. I'm building some stock now so hopefully they can ship same or next day depending on options and when they're ordered.

Mmm. ...I'm a 'lil late to this party. But, no, I did not install the tank skid at that time. Budget wouldn't allow it. My thoughts on the 4x set-up? 5 stars!! The sliders and skids have taken quite a few full-weight-of-the-truck impacts. I have a dime size ding on a slider. For all of the hits it has taken, I'm surprised that it is only one ding. :headbang: The skids also protect the pivot points on the LCA's. I don't know of any other skid plates that offer that protection. (I could be wrong). They came in bare metal. I used POR 15 to coat the skids and sliders. 2 Wis. winters and it is holding up very well.
    Here's pics from their website.

I run RCI, but heard Wescott Designs have a super nice product as well. Seems like many of these different products do just about the same for as long as they are built correctly and the welds are good and solid.

I went with RCI because I like their low profile bump out but RSG is great as well. Both are local to me so they were really the only two I considered.

Very durable. The only parts showing rust are the rivets holding the emblem in place.

BodyArmor4x4 recently released a pair of sliders. One’s a flat step style slider and the other is a 25 degree kick out style slider. I just installed the latter, $680 on sale and that includes powder coating. They’re compact compared to others and hug the body nicely. Haven’t tried them out yet as most of the trails here in Colorado are covered in snow.

Honestly I'm loving the factory rock sliders! I didn't want something sticking out too far or hanging down. I didn't find anything I liked better from aftermarket companies so I got the ones from Toyota. Plus they are cheaper than anything else out there.

Are those steel? I was looking at those. If they are that’s a good deal. IIRC there was no info to be found.

Installed the RSG Sliders yesterday, I went with flat, kick out, DOM, powder coated. I choose RSG over others for a few reasons, two most important for me being 103D9987-C6ED-466E-B429-6E7D80C8F16C.jpg the gripping teeth to keep your feet from slipping off and the stepping plates being welded instead of screws holding plates to sliders. I’m 100% satisfied, I think they look great, help big time with accessing roof, and less chance of slipping off with snow and mud on them.

Good choice. I've had those for 4 years or so, although mine are HREW & no kick out. Couldn't be happier with a slider.

You banged your hrew around? How they holding up?

Ordered rsg as well. Was debating between it and Caliraised. I like how Rsg has greater surface area against the frame, to better spread out the forces, when vehicle slams on a rock

Installed my Greenlane hybrid sliders a few weeks ago. Lightweight and very sturdy. I don't off road and these are perfect as a step for my daughters and petite wife.

There are so many good choices for rock sliders on our 4Runners. It's hard to go wrong with any in this thread.

Same - 3 years with RSG HREW kickouts. I've scraped the powdercoat away many times, and use a wheel to polish them back up and repaint. No flaking or deep rust. They have rubbed against trees, rocks, banks, etc., including a few hard hits. No bending. I have yet to jack off them - all the mounting bolts are on a vertical plate against the frame, and I'd feel more confident with a set that wrapped over or under the frame. But for what I do, no regrets.
