Just curious why you look for stock nitto terra Grapplers? Visually stock tires are not winter rated and these tires or if you buy from discount tire, they are winter rated a/ts.

I don't know why stock tires don't have 3pmsf rating. Maybe Toyota want them to be lighter and more comfort like all seasons? No idea what's the deal is. Me personally would buy the better tire from tire shop vs trying to find stock tires.

What do you mean, if I buy from discount tire they are winter rated? What tire are you referring to?

I like the stock tires. Quiet, long life, and been reliable four seasons for me. I also like how they look. I am all for upgrading if there is a similar to stock Nitto, just didn't follow what you meant exactly.

And the description says "Severe Snow Service Rated".

Interesting. Good catch, thank you. So I should just grab the ones linked? The name makes it sound identical outside of what you caught there. Wondering how different the two really are.

I didn't buy another Nitto Terra Grappler. I got Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac in a very short time. Now I'm running Toyo Open Country AT3.

If interested there are threads for good tires. I don't think I've seen anyone buying Nitto Terra Grapplers.

@wolfman Yes, just get the same Nitto model at discount in the same size as what you have and you’re good to go (assuming you want that same tire you already have).

The non-OEM models of the same tire typically have better ratings such as 3Peak, etc. I also have a Ford F-350 Tremor and the Goodyear Duractracs that come on the Tremor Super Duty trucks don’t have the 3 Peak rating, but the “same” tire from Discount, Costco, etc does.

Thanks. I just went to Discount Tire like you said, but there are options for load index of 115T or 121S, then load range E1 or SL. Thats why I am making this post! So confusing! AHHH

Thanks for the info about OE and non-OE coming with and without 3peak. Argh!

It looks like the G2 are the next generation of the Terra grappler

“For another option in all-terrain performance, Nitto designed their next generation of the Terra Grappler. The G2’s purpose is the same as the AT: handling and performance on and off the road. But what’s the difference between the two? The key lies in the materials used to construct the tire – specific to a compound that allows for an even longer tire tread life. This is backed up by a limited treadwear warranty (up to 65,000 miles, depending on size), which is unique for a line of all-terrain tires.

Nitto added other technical advancements to further improve performance in off-road conditions while keeping the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 quiet on the highway and retaining their aggressive style even as they wear.”

Are you trying to get just 1 (as a spare or to replace a bad tire?) or are you getting a full set?

if you’re getting a full set, there are better options than the nitto terra based on what your needs. if you just need one (spare or to replace a bad one) I’m sure the G2 will be fine. They are really similar to the OEM one

Time for new tires. Just want to get the Nitto Terra Grapplers. No complaints about them. If there is a "better" Terra Grappler that would be great too. But stock variant would be awesome too. I don't see a NTG, with that 3peak variant so.. argh.

THANK YOU!! I think the 115T is stock. They've served me well. You think going to the 121S is a worthy move?

If you’ve been happy with the OEM, you should definitely be fine with the new version. It seems to be the same with slightly better longevity and winter rated so a win-win

If you’re not towing or don’t have any crazy heavy loads in the 4R, there’s no point of going with the 121S :)
