Fixed my clunk

    I had a clunk at left and right turn over bumps. I finally narrowed it down to the lca cam bolts were loose. Tightened to spec and to my amaze Screenshot_20240105_174103.jpg 20240105_211305_HDR.jpg ment ment no more clunk. Yay. Now I just have to do a new boot on my passenger side uca ball joint and I'll be tip top again.

    If those cam bolts were loose, you'll need to get an alignment.

    The cam adjusters might not have moved when you tightened them, but how do you know they didn't move when the bolts were loose? If you were having a clunking going on, and the fix was tightening the cam adjuster bolts, something was moving around that wasn't supposed to.

    I'd still recommend an alignment, but you do you.

    Friendly reminder, did you do the final torque with full weight on the wheels?

    Did you do it on ramps? I'm having the same issue and I have a feeling it's my lca bolts only odd part it's more noticeable in wet driving conditions, any tips would be gladly appreciated.

    I’ve noticed that the LCAs are not in the same position when they are on ramps. Personally, I’d suggest doing the final torque with the front on level ground. That way the bushings are tightened at normal ride height.

    I assume that's when you're on just two ramps. They ought to be in the same position if you're on four.

    Ain’t nobody got room for 4 ramps!! ! Lol. ;)

    yes, the idea being two ramps affected weight distribution more than I expected. With 4, it’s the same as level ground.

    Interesting, does turning the wheel affect the weight distribution to the bushing ? Say I wanna access the rear bolt to do final torque down. Kinda hard with long arms at stock height lol

    I've read up on Trail4runner that some people do 129, some do a little higher due to them coming loose at a certain spec, specially after alignment.
