Has anyone figured out how to change locations listed under "Local" in the weather app on the ORP (and possibly other trims)?

The 15-20 towns listed on mine are all in the vicinity of the dealer, in the range of 1-2 hours from me, including the default location. The doesn't appear to be editable. I tried setting a home location in the Navigation app, but that didn't affect the weather.

Of course I could use Android Auto to display something more useful from my phone, but I'd rather have the app get it right.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

My weather app ( I have the screen set to display Radio/Weather and GPS ), displays my local weather automatically, if I drive from one city to another, it updates on its own. E. G. It changes from Arlington, Mansfield, Ft. Worth, Dallas, etc.....

I didn't do anything special to get it that way either. I just put the Toyota Weather Widget on the home screen.

Mine does eventually grab onto another somewhat nearby town in their database, but if it's not getting good signal, it defaults to the dealer's town. It's funny that it can get up-to-date weather data for that town more reliably than it can display a town near my current location.

Reading between the lines of the manual, the weather has something to do with HD radio rather than the DCM or other link.

SOLVED: Yes, it's connected to HD FM Radio. The locations for weather stations finally changed (after 8 months) when I changed audio source to FM and selected the option to re-create the station list. It's not without flaws, though. The list doesn't include the three nearest towns with FM stations, perhaps because they're not HD FM. I'll have to check into that some more.

I have listened to FM radio before, by manually tuning and I've even made and used presets. However, I never had it create a station list before, which apparently the dealer did when it came in. It's kind of weird that the Weather app depends on it. I wonder if that means the weather data is coming from the FM radio, even if I'm not using it.
