I have been looking around for solutions to securely mount a safe in a hidden location inside of the vehicle. Up to this time I have been using that I purchased from Harbor Freight Tools. The problem with these sort of safes is that the cable it comes with offers very little security.

I really like security of the safes that are made for Jeeps offer. They are bolted directly to the vehicle components, which makes it really difficult to remove them without significant effort.

I decided to approach the problem with a similar mindset. The best location that I could find to mount the safe was under the passenger's seat. This is the only place where it could be directly bolted to the floor of the vehicle in my camper setup. The seat had to be removed to gain access to this location.

The most difficult part was to calculate where to drill the holes, so they are located away from the wires and structural components.

The bolts were secured with locking nuts and then cut flush with the top of the nuts.

This is what the safe looks like with the seat back in place. To access it, I have to move the seat forward a little.

Out of sight, out of mind.

There is a drop in one from Toyota that goes into the center console. I've never seen one in person but it looks stealthy.

Hey guys. I don't ever intend to have a safe but was looking through here and had a couple questions. The safe is going to be bolted down under the seat right? And the too flips open upward? Can it open when it's under the seat?

I have the standard lockerdown console safe and love it. The extreme with the digital lock would be amazing.
