Anyone else supercharge their runners? Here is mine with the URD charger. It’s a game changer!

Welcome. Yep, I installed my Magnuson when the odometer read 400 Miles. I've got 7k on it now and it's by far the best mod I've done. Enjoy!

Probably they know there are owners like myself don't buy vehicles with turbos / superchargers.:D

I think in the past they did have turbo in 4Runners with 22RE.

Thanks. We both get to enjoy v8 power :) I haven't dynoed it but it's a lot more than stock for sure. It has a good bit more power than my 2019 Silverado. Short clip of the sound here.

It always comes down to cost or fuel economy. I am curious though what the fuel economy difference with a supercharger and without.

I'm 6 tanks in and it keeps creeping up to 19.7. Before it was 15. I'm guessing eventually it'll correct it's self and go lower maybe, but I'm not seeing a drastic decrease either

Ahh I get it now, LoL.

Lets not start hate comments towards supercharge owners. Let this thread be their cup of tea. We have many other thread where we can share our thoughts.

I figured it might do a little better than without by increasing efficiency. If I had one I know I wouldn’t get more than 10. I wouldn’t be able to resist and drive normally. My wife has a wrx and I certainly don’t drive that like my 4Runner. Thanks

I would imagine any potential increase in fuel efficiency (which is honestly hard for be to believe being that more air requires more fuel. So I'm not sure on how your mileage would increase...) would be undercut by the fact that it now takes premium fuel.

There were TRD Superchargers made my Magnusson for the 4th gen that were an OEM accessory, Magnusson makes one for 5th gen it just doesn't have an OEM part # on it.

I bought the sc so that my SO could feel more comfortable driving it on trips, she's too used to a turbo commuter and it wouldn't have made sense trying to change vehicles under my circumstances. It makes it feel more like a modern vehicle but not a modern performance vehicle, I still have my data logging running right now and can see we're boosting around town but it's only short natural blips.

No doubt that it'll chug even more gas than stock when I'm actually on it. You have to be out of vacuum to close the bypass which is a decent amount of pedal pressure unless the drive by wire gas pedal is adjusted (power commander/tune).

I'd say don't really worry much about the mpg with the sc. Gears/tires/weight is what has messed with my mpg.

From the video, it looks like 0-60 is about 7 seconds. Is this result consistent after multiple runs?

Not really. It doesn't normally stumble like it did in that video. I'm sure it normally gets below 7, just not sure by how much.

No, I'm not even sure where one is anywhere near where I live. I've seen reports anywhere from 330-350hp at the crank. I just knew it would be a big difference and it is.

It would be cool to see a video of a smooth launch and be able to compare that with the all-new Taco (and maybe 4R).

If I drive it easy I get about 16mpg but that rarely happens lol it’s hard to not boost it, too much fun! Before i was getting around 18 mpg

Since the engine is rated at 270 hp from the factory, getting an add'l 60 or so from a supercharger seems reasonable, depending on the boost level. 'Course this assumes the SC has all the "accessories", like an intercooler of some kind, upgraded tune, and other related things (injectors, fuel pump, etc). I've read that at lower boost levels, the stock injectors and fuel pump are fine, but at a minimum, an ECU remap is needed.

I traded in a '22 Explorer ST that had the twin-turbo 3.0 V6. I added a 93 octane tune and full-size intercooler, which was good for another 90+ horsepower. I miss having those extra horses when I'm driving the 4R, but I'm getting used to it, and drive the 4R for what it is.

The Mag. comes with an intercooler new plugs and a handheld to retune, I don't believe they offer any other size pulleys so the kit as it is is pretty much what you can get out of it. From what I've read its pretty much at its limit. Don't quote me on amy of this, just things I've read. The Mag seems to be the way to go, I know they're dependable, have had a couple of buddies with them on different makes.

Just had my 4Runner dyno’d… she put out 300 hp at the wheel. Stock 4Runners put out 140-160 at the wheels. Did a few 0-60 runs with it using the OBDLink lx performance feature, registered 5.8 secs.

    She parties lol

Anyone have experience with the Yotawerx tune for the magnuson supercharger?

Very impressive numbers. The usable "mid range" torque looks like it would be fun.
