I know that this has been covered but,,
    I have a '21 4Runner with the lean.
Hoping to take care of the lean I put Bilstein 5100's all around. Just trying to level at the same time I put the front struts on the first slot using the stock springs.
I still have the lean and now I realized that I should have also replaced the springs.
So will replacing the springs resolve the lean?
    Springs front and rear?
Any suggestions on what springs to use and reusing the 5100's?
    Thanks

We're going to need more than '21 4Runner...model, where's the lean, how much is it, etc. Details make all the difference. For all we know, you might have a RWD 4Runner.

    Lean? There is no Lean.

    Do you have KDSS?

Are you talking about the truck leaning from left to right, or are you talking about rake? I.E. nose down pitch, ass high. Big difference.

Bilstein 5100s have adjustable spring perches. IF you were trying to level front to back, you should have been able to accomplish this WITH stock springs.

    Your correct
2021 TRD Off Road Premium 4WD
Drivers side lean 3/4 to 1 inch in the rear.
Drivers side lean 1/2 to 3/4 inch in the front.
Measurements are with a 1/4 tank of fuel. Worsens with a full tank.
A little about myself that also may help with your advice. I am 6-4 310 lbs.
I was told by a stealership to put a spacer on the top of the drivers side strut.
I know that some others have used this to resolve the issue but I want another solution.
So I was going to replace the springs.
    Thanks to all.

Drivers side lean, lower on the driver then the passenger.
Put the 5100's to level the rake. Fronts are on the first notch.
    No KDSS

Are you 100% positive that all of the springs, especially on the right (passenger) side are sitting in their perches correctly? If they were slightly twisted, that would certainly account for the differences you're seeing left to right.

Does Bilstien5100 instruction say to keep both driver and passenger same settings?

My Ironman coilovers for non KDSS driver side has more preload.

So you mean rake, not lean.

O.P. the 4Runner lean is a common issue. There are spacers you can get to correct this. It's probably easier for you to google 4Runner lean to find options on spacers to get precise results. There are also Youtube videos that may have recommendations as well. Here are just a couple options.

Is there a particular reason you’re against a small spacer? Seems like the easiest and least expensive solution. If you’re set on new springs, I’d recommend talking to a suspension vendor.

Are you measuring on what you're certain is level ground? I had a buddy call me once while driving behind me saying that my truck was leaning to the right. Another day I noticed it seemed to be leaning right. Measured it in my driveway once and it was all over the place. Finally used a level warehouse floor at work and it was within 1/4" on each side. Bottom line, small angles in the road surface can make huge differences in how the truck *appears* to lean. Just my experience though.

My garage is on a grade, like most roads and driveways. Makes it look like my Runner is leaning bad, but on level ground, theres only a very slight lean. The slight lean is from:
    a. I believe 4Runner is heavier in the drivers side cuz if has tank, driver, and such.
    b. No KDSS correction spacers after 3/2 lift.

Another thing is I have KDSS which can act a little "sticky" after being parked on unlevel ground, and take a few miles to "unlean" from whichever side.

    Hey OP @Ruby2021
I've been running Bilstein 5100's on all four corners for almost 3 years.
I had a 3/2 suspension lift installed using aftermarket lift springs (OME and ICON). Also got SPC UCA's.
Upgrading your springs won't fix the lean.
Aftermarket lift springs have virtually the same spring rate as factory as well (600lb).

Perhaps the preload can help you, as buddy said.
Spacers are the most common thing people do.
I can't speak on Bilstein spring perch groove settings, as I have mine set to the lowest/0"/stock ride height setting - because this is what Bilstein recommends when using aftermarket lift springs.

    Goodluck, I'm watching this thread

Where I live, the paved roads are “crowned” to help with rainwater runoff. On a level surface I do have a Drivers side lean. But when I take the vehicle on a paved roadway, and put a carpenter’s level on the dash, the lean is gone. Heck, on some roads with some passengers, the drivers side is actually “higher”. I have decided the lean is a comfort feature.
