Took the Olympus Tough TG-6 out today for a short bday hike, I love how I don't have to worry about this thing at all out in the elements, even dunked it in ice cold water, .. with that said, I think the camera on the phone still takes better pics, I'll take it out a few more times. Hopefully with bright blue skies... other than the pics showing the camera..obviously, lol all the rest are taken by the TG-6

    PHOTO HEAVY LOL

Pretty neat that the camera has temperature, compass and GPS!

Since it handles RAW have you tried image stacking to increase its dynamic range?

Nice pics in the forest, reminds me to go up to the mountains nearby and go for a winter hike.

Great pics! Images are nice & sharp with the new rig.
Looks like there there might be some natives (trout) in that stream.

Ha, nah, no trout, it's a seasonal creek, come summer, she's bone dry

Biggest fish I've ever seen in there, was prolly 5 inches , and that's a huge stretch lol

Love the perspective. Next time you should put a ND on the lens, slow the shutter speed down and do a motion shot of the train moving towards you. Not sure how often trains pass thru but something to experiment with / try something new.

I've been here for almost a year now, and only the 2nd time I've been fortunate enough to catch it.... their passing is so random it's either get ready to shoot, or your going to miss it.... I won't hear it for a day or two, or its early in the A.M... but yeah, when they do come their hauling @$$, time is of the essence, I'm not really familiar enough with this camera yet for anything fun lol

Thank you sir, I know we've mentioned this before, but man these posts really lose clarity, my original is really clear, this one, not so much

They really do. Knowing this, I look more at the compositions on here than the photo quality. I assume everyone is losing some sharpness when they post, and there are lots of cool shots. The disappointing part is that I want a legitimate sounding board when I post something, and because of degradation, I don't think that's possible. But let's keep sharpening each other anyway. You're doing great with your substitute hardware!

The one on the right looks to have a little more contrast. That can translate into 'clarity'.

I'm now imagining some of your train shots being taken with the P1000, with the train being in focus 1/2 mile away... That zoom will add a new perspective.

But that's why it's weird, they're the exact same photo, I just had my 4runner forum up, along with my pics on my phone, and screen shot side by side... iono this forum needs to step out up with the clarity loss :D

Maybe we can get it addressed. Or maybe it's too expensive an upgrade for them.

In all honesty, perhaps. My better camera is 47MP, and the forum would need to at least match that to duplicate photos from that camera. Probably a pretty big task for a forum that really doesn't make its $$ from high-quality graphics.

A cabbage butterfly. The head, eye, one antenna, nearest wing, and proboscis are in sharp focus on my PC. Just to gauge. Sharp on your end?

Shooting stars from a slightly older Fuji digital camera. Just for fun because I like these flowers.

Thanks. They aren't perfect shots, but the clear bits are as sharp as that camera will go. Plus, they're cropped/enlarged a little, which makes things worse.
