At the moment I am changing my vavle gasket, Cam Covers, and half moons. Does anyone know how much sealant I have to use on the cam covers and half moons?

a dollop. I used a good amount with i changed mine. So i assured myself that it wouldn't leak afterward. I'd say use your judgement.

I just used enough to fill the space on the half moon. I don't want sealant floating around in my engine. Thank you for the feedback

No sealant on the cam covers. I didn't put thread locker on the valve cover bolts and had to pull the intake off again a year later and redo the bolts as they backed out again.

In the shop manual it states that the seal should be added to the groove. There is also a Toyota part number (Part No. 08826-00080 or equivalent)

Do the half moons go flush after torqueing down the vavle cover?
