Hello all! As a part of my adulting journey, I bought my first car! Pictured is my first car, a 1998 Eighty-Eight Oldsmobile. I think you all would agree with my choice of upgrade. Im looking forward to seeing what creativity you all share. If anyone has any advice on modding Limiteds, I am all ears. Would love to create a unique Limited with some "armor," haha.

I've had it for a couple of months and have been in love with the driving experience from the start. my cars.jpg

Nice first car! I had an 88 that I bought brand new in 1995. 3800 is a great motor.

    Congratulations..

There are some serious Limited builds with big tires, armor, triple lockers (front, rear, factory center) around here.

Mine is pretty basic. SO as a start here's my simple Limited mod:

Haha, I had a '98 88 as well! Mine was silver, had the front bench seat. My grandfather gave it to me. Super boring car, but so good on gas considering how big it was. The GM 3.8 is one of the best engines ever made, IMO.

Welcome from Wisconsin! Winter is around the corner... at least here. Put the 4Runner away, and use the 88 as a winter car.

Yes! And it is the most comfortable car ever made. We call it the land yacht because of how long and comfortable it is. Not much to write home about, but got me where I was going in comfort.

This is my next mod that I plan on adding, along with some new circle thingies. Thanks for the resource!

Had 86 Buick lesabre back in the 90’s. That car was awesome. Ok maybe not awesome looking but it was good in the snow and bad weather had good pep and that 3800 motor would get me through the week on 5 bucks worth of gas. Now it costs $5 in gas to get to the corner store.

I worked at a Buick dealership in the mid-late 80s so I drove a lot of them. Always liked them. Just to be technically correct, an ‘86 was a 3.8 but it wasn’t the same as the famous 3800. That came a couple of years later and was extensively reworked.

Yes you are correct. It was the 3.8. It’s been awhile.

HAHA that's what my dad had before the Oldsmobile. It was a nice rider.
