Thinking about vinyl wrapping the lower middle bumper trim where the valance would go, but I have an SR5 and it did not come with a valance. I love the blackout look down the middle of the 5th gen front end but don't want to remove the bumper to cut holes for the valance to attach and I also don't want the small strip of white showing between the lower grill and the bumper valance. Has anyone applied wrap to that area? and if so, anything to avoid? I purchased knifeless tape to help around the edges. I'm also using 3M air release satin black film. Heard it was pretty durable and I only need it to last about 2-3 years before I put on the C4 low profile bumper with winch.

IMHO: vinyl wrap is very good to prevent scratches on gelcoat and paint, that eventually lead to rust spots. same against bird poop - very corrosive. bumper is plastic, and even it may be damaged by rocks, it will not rust. re-paint bumper professionally, last time I check, cost $500. But as some member here said: this forum is for people who "want" things, not what really need for everyday life, or make economic sense.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

I wish that TufSkinz made a product for the valance, and the bar just above it. I bet it would be a big hit. They could make them in various colors and matte black.

I say do it. Shouldn’t cost that much to have a pro give it the Pro look.

I agree 100% I would be first in line to buy it.

I purchased the materials, will post the finished product. Using Satin finish 3M air release technology. Hope it goes well.

I did that, but just the leftover strip when installing a C4 lopro. Came out nice. Used knifeless tape to get the lines clean. Removing the grill will make it very easy to wrap up there.

Thanks for the heads up. I plan on going up that far so will remove the lower grill as well.

If I was to do something like this, I'd go with bedliner coating instead of a vinyl wrap.
