I need help. I thought this would be simple, but the more I read and research the more complicated this gets.

I have a '23 ORP non-JBL and I wanted to make the stereo sound better so I did the 3.5" dash upgrade with JBL KS series speakers. They sound better, but now my volume sucks.

So I researched amps and decided on the Kicker Key, then I read it was rated for 4 ohms, but because the speakers in the 4R are run in parallel upfront and series in the rear it wouldn't be good for the amp.

Then I thought okay, I'll upgrade all of the speakers with the Kicker KS 8 speaker replacement from trailgridpro and maybe in a few weeks I'd upgrade the stock head unit to the Alpine iLX-F509 and that should be enough power. Then I got thinking about how the fronts would still be 2 ohms and the rears would still be 8 ohms.

This lead me to think that I should actually not use the KSS269 6x9 & 2.75" Component System from the kit for the front speakers and actually use a "real" component kit for the front and dash speakers, something with a crossover so it would actually be 4 ohms (I know this will require a little rewiring of the fronts/dash, but I'm good with that) and in addition, I would rework the wiring to somehow make the rears and hatch 4 ohms, or just remove the hatch speakers.

I wanted this to be simple, mostly plug and play with some sort of automatic DSP (like the Kicker Key). I'm not looking to run new wires to every speaker, and I'm not looking to add multiple amps or even a subwoofer.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

OEM Audio + makes a full plug and play system with an amp that has built in DSP. The sub(s) and sub amp is optional. Expensive but it takes the guess work out of everything.

Sadly with the wiring and the non-standard resistance Toyota used in it's speakers it's not easy to just drop in some better coaxial speakers.

Yeah, I'm still leaning towards a new HU with some speakers, just not sure what speakers to go with.

How good is the OEM Audio+ kit? I'm looking as well to upgrade the sound system in my '23 and I don't want to have to engineer parts.

Depends on what you're looking for. It's not going to melt the hardware out of the car next to you but it sounds really good. I have the dual subs but want more bass.

How does it compare to JBL/Premium audio in other vehicles?

I didn't have JBL in my Runner but I had it in my Tacoma, it's way better than the JBL. I'm talking about the full system with separate sub amp, not just the door speakers.
