Americans could greatly benefit from these simple lessons to re-focus our wildly divergent path.
    • The principles of Kaizen teach us the value of continuous improvement, reminding us to seek and implement beneficial changes, however small, into our daily routines
    • Jidoka highlights the importance of recognizing problems at their earliest stages and addressing them immediately rather than escalating them
    • Focusing on practicality reminds us to prioritize sustainability and long-term benefits over short-term gains.

Sadly I don’t think this will ever happen to the extent the Japanese manufacturers have focused on it. I remember studying and reading about this stuff in college while the Detroit three made garbage. It has definitely improved significantly but not where it should be. You have to welcome the competition to stay sharp.

    Having said that Go Lions!

I think this is a great model for manufacturing, but also applies to daily life. We're losing, and we've lost our way as Americans.

Agreed. This commercial is from 2012 Super Bowl and applies in the same dynamic today in my opinion. They should replay this during the playoffs. Not so much for the cars but for the message I think you are conveying as well.

Continuous improvement sounds risky, let's try enforced apathy.

There's a push to convince consumers that Toyotas built outside Japan are just as good, but I don't think anyone is falling for it.

You seemed to omit the third bullet point.
