I know you didn't. I do like the looks but it's also very functional.......I really don't feel like getting plastic ripped off and potentially damaging fog light wiring etc. Much easier to do a viper cut than to make repairs and have to paint and install new plastic.

I've definitely been rather impressed with A-TRAC. It does exactly what it's supposed to do.

100% agree it is for sure more aggressive. I feel like the people who hate on A-TRAC are comparing to a locker which is unfair.

 

I haven’t seen much hate on A-trac. It’s like having 90 percent of the functionality of a front and rear locked 4x4, with none of the mechanical risks.

Having a locker in addition to a-trac is even better. But that’s not taking anything away from a-trac.

If you have no prior experience with such traction aids, it takes a few attempts to really learn how to make A-Trac do its best. I come from Jeep BLD world, but BLD is active in 4Lo all the time.

Agreed. I'd love to be totally locked, eventually. But, I'd only use the lockers when absolutely necessary. A-TRAC has been impressing me constantly since the locker quit.

SR5 4R here. The only reason I have ever turned back from an obstacle is approach, break-over, or departure angles. (Mud and deep water are a no-go, too.) A-Trac has gotten me everywhere the guys with lockers have gone. Some of them get pissed, some are impressed. Some think I am lying that I don't have a locker. A-Trac is f'n magic.

 

The only things that limit our trucks are its body angles and the driver's tolerance to trail damage lol.

 

4H and 4L has always gotten me where I wanted to go. Snow, dirt and loose rock. Haven’t needed ATRAC yet, but I seldom if ever get into off camber situations.
