    1. I'm sure this question has been asked before. But I put a 3 inch lift on my 14 4runner. I ordered tires and wheels and have them delivered. But they won't go on and are hitting the calipers. They sent me wheels with a 0mm offset. Tire Rack couldn't figure out why they wouldn't fit. I sent them back and ordered from somewhere else. I believe they said that I need a 12 mm offset. I'm hoping they fit when they arrive. Can someone tell me what offset I need. Much appreciated. This whole project has turned out to be a total $hitshow.

Sounds like a big pain. First reaction here, what wheel size did you get and what tire size? And did you get positive or negative offset? Big differences here.

I bought 285/70/17. It came as a package. Everything mounted. They sent me a 0mm offset. I'm not sure what my stock wheels are. I'm confused because I'm researching and seeing that 0mm fits my truck. I don't get it.

I run the exact same Tire size and Offset. My wheels are Black Rhino and have no issues. Could it be there’s an error on the offset?

The wheels are hitting the calipers? As in brake calipers?

It has to be that they must have had to send me a positive offset. I'm not sure. Thanks for answering. I ordered other ones from somewhere else. Mounted and balanced. I think they are sending me ones with a negative 12 offset. They're the experts and I'm hoping for the best and are more informative than Tire Rack. Funny the guy said he's been there 16 years and this has never happened. It figures it's me...LoL

Yes. They won't go on all the way. Hitting the brake calipers. I just bought this truck a month ago. I don't think there's aftermarket calipers.

I'm trying to figure out how offset would cause a wheel to hit a brake caliper.

Sounds like you got the wrong size wheels. e.g. you got 15" wheels instead of 17" (or something like that). Or you have aftermarket calipers and need larger diameter wheels.

I have 17 inch wheels. The wheels they sent were 17 inch wheels. Maybe they are aftermarket. I really don't want to put spacers in. How would larger diameter wheels change something Brakes don't look aftermarket

Given they are the same size wheel as the ones that were on there before, I can't visualize how offset would cause the wheel to hit a brake caliper. I could see offset causing the tire/ wheel to hit a suspension component like an Upper Control Arm but not the brake caliper.

Will be intersting to see how this pans out.

Yes it will be. I should get the wheels buy Wednesday or earlier. I could tell ya more about this total mess....but that doesn't pertain to this.

I hoping your scenario doesn't happen. Like these will now clear the caliper and then hit the control arm....UHG

I very much appreciate your input. I will post again when I get these things. I'm so confused about all this after reading and watching you tube videos all morning.

Dirty Life Wheels 9315 Compound 17x9 MATTE BLACK 6x139.7 -12mm 106mm. So what your set up is really confusing now. We'll see what happens here. I don't mind doing a minor BMC. This truck HAS to have after market calipers

I'd agree about the aftermarket brakes except your previous wheels were 17". Got a pic of your brakes/ suspension with the wheel off?

got pics of rim hitting the brake caliper?

sounds like back-spacing might be wrong

Calipers I don't understand. Perhaps the wider tires were rubbing against the upper control arms?

Was not the upper control arm, the wheel wouldn't even go on due to the brake calipers against the back of the rim.

this is the stock wheel which is so close. Stock? Well it's the wheels that came with the truck. But it doesn't rub the caliper.

Does that picture I posted look like a factory caliper if anyone knows?
