$5,700 for regear and eaton e-locker

Parts, labor, and taxes for 4.10 and Eaton e-locker in the front. Isn't this a little too hefty?

 

Price aside, is it worth the effort to get to 4.10? 4.56 is more common and 4.88 is the correct number

 

4.88 would be overgear for 34s, don't you think so?

 

This number seems elevated.

Eaton e-locker for front about $1,400?
So $2,800 for labor?

That seems a bit on the steep side to me.

Did they give a solid axle conversion price?

 

MPG? About 12.5 to 13ish on the Hwy. About 10 off road. So yes, you must pay to play

 

I'd also consider going through these folks doing an exchange on your front clamshell. They do a lot of them and I'd trust their work to be done right. The cost would likely be offset in your shop as there would be less labor there.

Rob41 has a good post. Check with ECGS for built 3rd members. I trust them.

 

I though they only offered 4.56 and 4.88....where did you find 4.10s?

 

I asked for 4.10 and they said they have it

 

I have a friend who just used shipping for his core and they shipped to him. And now they are offering free shipping on orders over $500. I'm guessing you may have to pay to ship youre core to them with a weight of 65lbs.

For the rear. Its only 3.73 4.56 and 4.88

 

That makes sense considering most would be upgrading to 4.56 or 4.88.

 

Op...Since you can't have mixed matched gears. You best bet is 4.56. Then if you decided 35s down the road you'd be geared perfectly.

I'd love for them to offer 4.10s since I'm only on 33s with no plans to go larger.

Stop asking about mpg.... you'll get the best mpg completely STOCK(maybe more with a tune).

Going rate in my area is around $4700 no e locker. Ecgs prebuild rear 3rd might save a few hundred. Not a single shop i know of recommends a front locker. The few people i know with them have had catastrophic failures on the trails

I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I've been in contact with Rears N Gears, a place sorta near you OP. Might be worth a call and see what they'd charge.

They said doing a 4Runner is no sweat and they've done the swaps before.

Funny side note, the mechanic said he wouldn't do 4.10 as he said it wouldn't be noticeably beneficial.

 

That would be my concern too. I’ve seen videos of front CV axles breaking during off camber loads.

 

I wouldn’t go by this, maybe if it’s a 2WD
