KDSS worth the cost?

Same mechanically except for KDSS.

 

I would like to see the two versions of the 4Runner compared. My truck doesn't do as good as the 200 series Land Cruiser on the RTI ramp. We are not Toyota's flagship, let's not forget that.

 

The 200 series Land Cruiser is so amazing on the ramp, only the Wrangler is above it, that's nuts.

 

when I look under 4Runner & GX460 looks similar vs LC200 KDSS look different. These may not be the best pics. May be will try to take a good video next time. In LC200 the sway bar is connected to the frame on both sides like non-KDSS 4runner but has the ram on the driver side just outside of that bracket connected to the frame.

Ya I think the only direct ramp comparisons are like the video that's been posted, I saved these screenshots last year. KDSS flex is pretty good.
KDSS truly rarely fails, I'm very happy I have it.
I've recommended many times here, I believe the best option for folks is buy the KDSS for comfort and body roll and even articulation, then invest in the Dr. KDSS disengage switch to disable the auto 12mph connection (I did, best of both worlds)

You need to get to an RTI ramp and check the truck out when KDSS is connected and disconnected? I can't, because I assume kdss is always connected in my case when I get over the ramp

 

@Yotaholic OK what are the RTI ramps exactly?
I do have vehicle ramps max lift height 6-5/8" + 6" if I set one on a curb and pull one tire up on it (getting crafty like @Trail Runnah)
So I could theoretically raise one wheel 12-5/8".

I have Xreas because I bought the best trim offered, but I wish it had kdss

 

Bronco on 35s and no swaybar disconnect. Pretty pathetic. My KDSS beat it.

 

Speak for yourself. I needed to turn around quickly recently and had to hop a curb - totally counts as off road.

Max flex doesn't necessarily mean good enough grip. I have had one wheel slip in situations where I had enough flex and stil had to engage A-Trac.

 

To be fair though, it is the open diffs that are the culprit sometimes. I have experienced a Wrangler that had amazing flex, but BLD kicked in. BLD is the A-Trac of Jeep world.

 

You think the crazy Jeepers would simply walk away from that shop without checking out their flex?

If by best you mean highest price under TRD Pro

 

Limited has some sweet features. I also like the personality of Limited drivers. Most of them are just cool and not in a hurry, they look like they are doing well financially, and most of the Limiteds have zero mods. I met one at a concernt parking. She said it was her second 4Runner after she drove one, a 3rd gen, for years.

The GX is probably the exact same as ours, since they're built on the same platform.

 

The GX is the best except for being completely crippled by the plastic bumpers. I've got more $$ into my limited than a GX would have cost and I drove one and loved it. The front grill really is just so ugly that I sacrificed the power of two cylinders and a much more plush ride just because I wanted a winch in the front, ya know in case I need to pull out a shrub
