    Hey Guys,

Really appreciate all the feedback. What we preach here at Baja Designs to all off-road enthusiasts is that peak beam intensity is not only what makes an off-road light . As we all know off-roading is a constant battle of elevation changes and scanning the road for any potential hazards you may encounter. If your off-roading consists of driving strictly on a flat road, having the tight beam would be more suitable . The issue with running only a light with a very sharp cut off while off-roading is that it creates tunnel vision and the bouncing ball effect when encountering any elevation changes. The Squadron Pro Spot will allow you to run less lights due to the transitional spill. Rather than needing to buy more lights to fill the void. Our light not only distributes the light to improve visibility while driving over all types of terrain not just flat roads. It helps the driver gain confidence by eliminating any dark spots in the driver’s field of vision and helps reduce eye strain when recognizing obstacles and improves endurance while driving. Our goal is giving the driver the best driving experience possible and giving a light that will be to adapt in real life scenarios and terrains. Off-roading is a game of being able to recognize objects to be able to achieve the quickest reaction time possible. Interested in more information on the reason why we do it ? Please check out our ELS white paper here : https://www.bajadesigns.com/els/
    Best,
    Brahian

We have two options available. Our Squadron Sport, Pro, Racer Series which are not road legal and is meant for off-road use only. Our all-new Squadron SAE is designed to meet the SAE J583 fog light requirements. We don't offer just an off road solution. Check them out Here https://www.bajadesigns.com/squadron-sae/

I appreciate you guys taking the time to explain the reasoning. I'm just saying that the DD's were a cleaner spot pattern. If the spill on the Baja's is intentional, that does make sense.

I hear a lot of positive things about your products, so you're obviously doing something right. You're one of the 3 brands I always recommend for off-road lighting. ;)

One thing I really like about the DD Pro’s… if you install correctly (for fog use), there’s still enough room in the fog surround that you can manually adjust them upwards. So when you’re off-road, it’s almost like they double as a flood. And they’re insanely bright. On road, just manually push them back down.

If you install them just right (front-back position in the bracket), you don’t have to re-aim for fog. You just push them down and they’ll stop in the correct position.

Basically, you aim them as fogs (on a wall following procedure). Then when in the correct orientation, tighten them down, and gently slide the light forward in the housing until the top of the light hits the surround. Then tighten a little more. This will leave a ~1/4 inch gap at the bottom. So if you push the top of the light, it’ll raise the beam. The light will be plenty tight but still moveable.

Sorry about the misremembering. Trying to digest too much information too quickly. Thanks for the correction. As I mentioned, I ordered the Diode Dynamics Sport.

I have a 19 4Runner and not only did the headlights suck for me the fogs did nothing. In my case it was a necessity with the wide range of weather conditions I drive in. Plus my eyes are not what they used to be, so it was a huge difference.

Has anybody tried installing the DD Elite Series on an OR Premium? According to their site it says they will not fit in that trim or trims that come with LEDs from the factory.

Did you have to do any special wiring? I reached out to DD and this is the response I got:

"If you have LED Fog lights from the factory, the DT adapter harness will not be compatible

However, you can get a wiring harness and custom wire the fog lights into your cab for manual function! They will mount up no problem, however the wiring would be the only speed bump if you have LED Fog lights from the factory."

No special wiring was needed. I have a 2022 and it came with LED fogs. The elites come with a Y harness that plugs into the oem plug and another end that you’ll have to wire for the backlight.

I installed a pair of DD Pro's yesterday anticipating foul weather tonight. I got to try them out on my way home from work tonight with snow flying. Well worth the money. Install was pretty easy. Pay attention to the video about flipping the pigtail connector if the light doesn't work. Don't flip the end going into the light's housing. Flip the other end on the vehicle side. I thought I had a bad light there for a minute.

Just purchased a set of the SAE Squadrons in clear lens. Are these lenses not interchangeable? Have heard rumors they would need to be sent in to BD. Is this due to the risk of the consumer not being able to correctly line up the bulb "skirt" on the new version 2 that doesn't exist on version 1 models?

When assembling the light, we carefully adjust the optics to achieve road-legal spec. The reason why they are not Uservicable is due to the possibility of misaligning which causes issues with the light pattern. To replace the lens color the lights will have to be shipped to our facility to get swapped and calibrated. If you are looking to do a lens swap shoot me an email at brahianh@bajadesigns.com.
