New to 4Runner lifestyle. Bought 1st a few months ago. Silver 2018 Limited trim. I want to add a lift, wheels, and tires. I'm looking for something the crosses between the city/ road appeal and an all terrain/ touring vibe. Not all-out off-road if that makes sense. The 20" OEM wheels are so natural, but I am not a fan of the 7.5" width. I've been pointed to Fuel D584 Recoil wheels with a 265/65/17 tire. Will a lift kit solve any rubbing problems on that fitment, or will I need to make add'l mods? I am looking for suggestions and/ or photos of what looks good - and what I'll need to mod to make it fit (if anything). Appreciate the time and feedback. Cheers to a happy new year!

Your 2018 Limited more than likely has the XREAS suspension system, unless it was previously removed. If not, you're going to need to remove it if you want to even entertain the idea of lifting. If you do some research, you can find alternate tire and wheel sizes here> that will give you an estimate of what you can do on your 4R as it is.

    Oooh look, another mod.....

You'd have to be as crazy (and dedicated) as this guy:

265/65/17 will fit fine because it’s smaller than the stock tire size. I would suggest 265/70/17 and sticking to a 0 or positive offset wheel to avoid rubbing. My vote for a mild AT would be Cooper Discoverer AT3 or BFG Trail Terrain in that size. Might need to trim a little fender liner or heat it and push it back but that should be it

Thank you for the resource! Revtek actually makes a lift kit that works with the XREAS. 2 Inch Lift Kit | X-REAS | Toyota 4Runner 2WD/4WD (2010-2023) | Rough Country. I'm told by a local shop that it works fine. No other mods are needed. He said I can go as big as 285/75 with 7.5" TRD Pro wheels.

Run from that shop. Pro wheels are not 7.5” wide and you will rub with 285/75/17 unless you drive straight and never flex the suspension. That dude has no idea what’s he’s talking about

    Lots…
Bought Mickey Thompson 285/70/17s for the TRD Pro wheels (aftermarket since it's an ORP). Should arrive next week. 5th full wheel too! Now I can rotate at home. Huge bump to BAMS Wholesale for the deal on the full spare wheel and TPMS.
