    That is a slick system, but it's $600, plus everything else is extra. For less than $100, I bought a fixed platform and 4 of those yellow lid plastic totes. Not nearly as cool as the SwingBase, but I only use it a couple of times a year. Have you looked at 1UP USA racks? All metal, US made and last indefinitely (14 years with my bike rack so far). Thule, Yakima and the others use lots of plastic parts that have a limited lifespan.

    I agree it seem pretty expensive but cool. Didn't know about 1UP USA Racks but thank you for the input.

    I’ve got a simple Curt cargo platform and it works great. It’s located far enough back that I can still open the hatch, which was a big factor for me when buying because I have dogs that need to be let out on longer trips. It seems well built and after 4 uses I haven’t run into any issues.
