So the other day I drove the 4runner to get some oil and a filter. On the way home, I stopped to get gas. Filled it up halfway and started the vehicle up. Immediately it idled and ran rough all the way home. I opened the hood and checked to see if anything looked out of place. It didn't so I decided to go ahead and change the oil. I also added fuel injector cleaner to the tank. Today I had to take some boxes and stuff to the recycling center and she ran smooth as can be and idled smooth too. Have no idea what changed to do that as the injector cleaner hadn't had time to work. Only thing I could think of is that maybe I didn't tighten the fuel cap enough.

Since the roughness cleared up, you may have had a fouled spark plug(s) I don’t think a loose gas cap would cause a misfire. I would suggest an Italian Tune Up. After a lot of slow in town driving, 10 miles at 75 mph in 4th gear works well for my truck.

It was "Take your kid to work", week. Company truck (2021 RAM 4x4) couldn't handle the Angeles National Forest and cracked her rim. This left me with having to drive Ol' Patches. Sure was beautiful in the back country!

Yesterday I had my CV axles replaced! Also had a shifting fork installed/modified so that the 4 wheel drive now works!

I extended the bump stops on my front suspension to better leverage my Blazeland extended A-arms so the tires will stop kissing the fenders on bottom out.
    20230610_125525.jpg
Used some angle iron to adapt the T-100 anti roll bar to the 1991 links to A-Arm.

Rear bump stop is close but clears the T-100 bar with the Energy Suspension Bumps in place.

After 254K miles the original steering damper started to leak, time for a new one.

After a very long and grueling search. I finally found my baby! Picked her up two days ago. I’ve been spending the last two days washing and waxing.

157,000. to owner car spent all of its life in Arizona and southern Nevada. I woke up this morning and went out in the garage and she said mama needs a new pair of shoes.

In the middle of doing a head gasket. Got this nice limited with 146,000 original miles. Pretty much no rust on the frame. The paint could use a nice touch up. Other then that it’s perfect. And the best part is I got it for only $1200 from the original owner.

so today I was driving on the city streets, going with the flow of traffic downshifted into third hung up around 3000 RPM for about 20 seconds then shifted into fourth smooth. Then about 30 seconds later vehicle died shifted into neutral pull to the side of the road. Got out of the vehicle looked around no fluids underneath popped the hood no burnt smell everything looked OK. Went to Turn the vehicle back on, and all I see is a solid, check engine light on my dash.ugh!!!
Tried to turn her over a couple times she was trying, but she couldn’t fire.
Had to tow her to the shop. Haven’t heard anything yet.

The rear sway bar broke on my last trip. Installed a new ADDCO bar with polyurethane bushings.

Lifted, tires... in the process of restoration
Finally getting around to switching lift kit out...... going from the "4 inch Rough Country" to a "3 in lift kit I'm piecing together with spacers and Old Emu springs, Bilstein shocks and an adjustable rear track bar. Starting with the rear first.... waiting on new clutch, u joints and the short throw shifter kit to come in... then I will knock out the front and those at the same time

First mod on my newest acquisition.
I completed this a couple of days ago.

Yesterday I pulled the intake plenum to clean the throttle body and whatever I can of the plenum. I'll also be pulling the valve covers to try to chase down an oil leak. I'm thinking camshaft housing plug.
