Hello all, i currently own a 15 silverado 1500 with 63k miles. I have not had any issues yet but know eventually lifters and transmission will fail. My question is,Has anyone gone from a Full size truck to a 4runner and regretted it? Also hows the backseat room, i have a set of 4yr old twins. Thank you

I went from a 4 door tundra to my 4runner.

regrets? I mean I loved my tundra and wish I would have kept it, but it wasn’t a Chevy lol. I mostly miss the v8 engine. Otherwise, no regrets. My 4Runner is 10x more enjoyable.

I went from Chevy SUV's to a 4Runner. the 4Runner will be waaay more reliable (though I'm impressed your '15 is still hanging in there). Back seat has plenty of room. The third row kinda sucks-no room at all, but that's not why we bought ours. my only gripe is that I dont find the seats very comfortable on long trips, but mine is the base (SR5) model. Limiteds and higher might have better seats. Overall though, I love my 4Runner

2016 crew max tundra back to a 4runner (my third). There are a lot of things I loved about a full size truck but really hated the mpg and trying to park it in town. The 4runner always calls me back it seems.

4Runner back seat (not 3rd row) is incredibly comfortable and spacious. Seat backs can recline quite a bit. To me they are even more comfortable than the Lexus GX back seats.

Find a used 4Runner listed for sale near you and go sit in the back seat. IMO the rear seats are roomy enough but you might have a different expectation.

We went from a Silverado(crew cab) to a Tacoma, then to a 4Runner. Used to love our LTZ Silverado, but 4 recalls before we could drive it from the dealership, but not really regrets. Your 4 yr. olds will fit in the 2nd row perfectly!

I went from a 2019 5.3 Silverado on 35's to a 2023 ORP several months ago. I had about 65k on the Silverado and had zero issues. However, I didn't have the confidence in all of the electronic controls.

While others may not agree, these are my observations that were immediately very clear to me.

The handling, acceleration and braking were definitely much better on the Silverado. That's before and after installing the Eibach Pro Truck 2R with 285/70/17 Falkens. The mileage was the same between the two. Once I installed the Supercharger I get a bit less miles to gallon that the Silverado on 35's........but not by much.

I am still glad I made the switch to the 4Runner. After the Magnuson install, the power is on par with the Silverado and I'm sure the 4Runner would now best it in 1/8-1/4 mile times. The handling and braking is adequate.

The big plusses for me are:
    Reliability
Off road ability (Far better than the Silverado in Northern Mi)
    More interior room
4Runners are just fun on and off road. Also very easy to live with on the daily.

And to one of your questions....the rear seat. There is more leg room in the 4Runner compared to my Double Cab version of the Silverado. My grandson is 6'2" and 290lbs. He has no issues whatsoever sitting in the back seat.

You'll likely have enough interior space but you might find the power and gear hunting on inclines annoying. If that's the case and you can swing it, a Magnuson Supercharger would take care of both of those.
