I went with Baja SAE and they provide really good coverage off and on road. I went with white and split top yellow and bottom White.

I've had mine for over 2 years and use them somewhat regularly. Yes, they get hot, but not hot enough to melt plastic.

It's a slight exaggeration based on this video: https://youtu.be/G5RBbUOJNpo?si=Tn19g_qeR1FRUOEa

25-27% loss vs 0-5% for the standard versions is not slight if they're double the price but within spitting distance at operating temp. I wouldn't expect too much air movement behind the bumper and brackets, either. Plus it's hot as balls here most of the time.

And Headlight Revolution is not exactly known for unbiased, truly scientific information in their videos.

    Possibly silly question...
My OEM LED fogs seem pretty dang bright.
Are the DD Sport units much of an upgrade from OEM LED?
I think for sure though if I stick with the OEM LED's I am going to wire them to a desiccated switch. I do not love not being able to run with JUST the fogs.

Truth be told, all of the Diode Dynamics SS3 line are an upgrade over stock. And yes, even the Sport and Elite are a pretty decent upgrade.

My thoughts also. Why I got them for my 2019 4runner as well.
IMO, Might be worth to spend the money on auxiliary lights vs replacing something already good.

Well - I was having an internal battle over need vs. want but recent weather and road conditions pushed me over the hump.

Just bought the DD SS3 Max’s - found a 15% deal on Amazon + I had a gift certificate to soften the financial hit a bit.

Getting older, driving a ton and less confidence night driving - the struggle is real‍♂️‍♂️.

    Happy New Year!

    10% brighter, 20%
    Wider beam?

    Thanks for the reply

Generally speaking, both - depending on the model. DD put out a great video comparing the various SS3 models to OEM, but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks...more to think about....I'll look for the vids. I know I did some across some for the DD fogs, but do not remember seeing comparison to OEM LED's, just the halogens.

Mine are halogen and I can barely tell they're on; I caved and ordered sports the other day.

Almost took out a wild boar last night, it darted into the road behind the car ahead. Reminds me I need to adjust my low beams for the new rake angle.

Whoops, turns out they were LED just aimed very low--never got the chance to use them. My low beams overpowered the cutoff on the road and I only noticed testing against the garage door.

Only did a short test drive but digging the sports so far.
