One-at-this-price stripper. Bought new 34 yrs ago, a $13K leftover. Added Detroit TruTrac, 1”rear spring spacer and “pinstripes”… Factory AC kit and roof rack bought at dealer cost at time of purchase, still blows ice cold 32yrs later. 2022 AG ORP all stock.
A young engineer I know was hired to solve Tesla’s problems on their assembly lines early in their ramping up the Model 3 production. But if he or anyone else halted production they would be drawn and quartered.
The young engineer told me if the Tahara line was stopped to fix a quality issue the individual who noticed the problem would be commended. That is the difference….
Prior to buying our new 4R 1-1/2 yrs ago I told him that the 6th gen would be out soon and it might be built in Mexico. He said if it isn’t a Tahara product don’t buy it, buy the 5th gen, So we did.

.....and that young engineer's name was...Albert Einstein.

The differences in culture of empowering individuals to stop a line for quality problems between Toyota and other manufacturers isn’t some arcane secret.

I don't buy into the "Secret Arcane Japanese discipline and quality" more than I believe in "Toyota Quality Control" . I'm sure standards are exactly the same at every plant.

I believed you were commenting on the comparison to Tesla manufacturing rather than between different Toyota plants so don’t mind me then if that isn’t the case

He said "If it isn't a Tahara Product, don't buy it". I was commenting on that.
